** I did find a thread that was very close to this post that answered a bit so thanks in advance for anyone who reads but I will always appreciate ideas of you still want to give them!!**

I've read and understand the differences between an XL versus XLT, but I am curious with there's anyone here who regrets getting an XL? I currently have an XLT on order but after some interesting conversations at home there are some things I wanted to add but since I'm already scheduled I couldn't. So I've been looking at placing a second order but choosing an XL this time because the only things I really need are the 4K towing and the co-pilot. I'm not thrilled about how small the color choice became but the savings per month makes up for it. I think the loss of some other stuff seems worth it. Sure power locking tailgate would be nice but I don't know if I require it. And there's no more secure lock keypad so I'm not really missing that. A back seat drink holder isn't really something that I've ever needed before. I think the only thing that stood out is the XLT gets a perimeter alarm? And then the only other thing is that I would definitely want to change out the rims at some point, but I don't mind the steelies for now. I guess most of my question is about the interior at this point. I used to not like the black seats but they've kind of grown on me with the atlas blue exterior. But is there anything else that seems different or might be missing? Any thoughts or advice anyone has would be appreciated. Thank you!

Initially, I wanted to get a 22 model, but that wasn't to be. Back then, the only thing I wanted that was not available on the XL, was cruise. Since the XL now has cruise, there was no reason for me to buy the XLT.
The only option I added to the XL was CP360, mostly for power mirrors and a full size spare tire.

The steel wheels will be replaced when I upgrade tires..

Everyone has different things they want on a vehicle. But for me, the XL has more than enough doodads on it to go wrong.

Nothing in the XLT package added any value to me. Bonus when ordering the XL, you actually get black seats. I just added some nice take off wheels, and eliminated the "poverty" look of the steelies.

Thanks! The 4ktowing was something I didn't think I would need but now we might be getting a small camper and I realized my original truck build could not support it. Not something I ever expected I'd need honestly. Lol

No regrets. I prefer the subdued interior color scheme and the look of the steel wheels. I added CP360 for the blind spot indicators, and I've found those very helpful.

The lack of power tailgate lock might get annoying if you use it a lot. If you've only got one key with you and the truck is running, you'll have to shut the truck off to get the key. Also the lock is weird because you have to hold the key up at an angle or it won't go in.

You can add rear cup holders using the FITS connector at the back of the center console.

I have a '22 XL Eco in Shadow Black and added wheels, cruise control, and the locking tailgate. I ordered a '23 XLT Hybrid primarily so I could get the optional HPR. This order was not fulfilled. My '24 rollover order is a XL hybrid in HPR. I should be getting the 3400.00 discount in addition to the Z plan pricing. I will add the locking tailgate and will be away ahead on pricing.

I compared the two very carefully before placing my order and went with a 2024 XL (EB 4k tow and CP360). After the 2024 price increase, the difference is 3k and definitely not worth it to me. I'm not crazy about the XLT orange interior trim either. In 2023, the difference was only 1500 which I most likely would have ordered. In 2022, I would have definitely gone for the XLT since cruise control is a must have for me.

Thank you, I honestly didn't even realize that it was like a 3k difference but you're right. If I wanted the lariat or like the luxury edition I guess I would understand. But I'm really just looking for 4K and 360. The tailgate is the only thing really on my mind. I might go in tomorrow and just place the order and see what happens.

I mean, I went XLT+Lux because I live in Wisconsin and wanted heated seats. Might not have bothered otherwise.

But yeah, when I picked up my truck in February, I was definitely glad I went that way 😆

I drove a loaded up Lariat EB while I was ((patiently)) waiting for my XL hybrid to be produced. I was a little afraid the XL would feel bare-bones after having access to all the bells and whistles, but honestly, I really don't miss any of the extra equipment the Lariat had.

I considered an XLT when I ordered my hybrid, but I didn't feel like the XLT equipment was worth the cost, plus I'm not a fan of the XLT interior color scheme.

I've upgraded my XL (+CP360, hitch, SIB) with FX4 wheels/tires, a leather wrapped steering wheel, and a few assorted appearance accessories. I have no regrets.

I had a basic XLT because of very limited stock at the time. I now have a 2024 XL on order. I prefer the XL interior as its pretty much the same as the interior you get with the Black Appearance Package on the XLT at no additional cost. I liked the automatic locking tailgate but like you, a locking one is fine. But I would miss power mirrors so I ordered Co-Pilot 360 for $650 which includes them. A base 2024 XLT lists around $27.5K. The XL is around $25.2K with Co-Pilot 360. It gives me an interior I prefer, added safety features and cruise control for $2200 less, almost $3K less if you don’t add Co-Pilot.

Main options for me between the XL and XLT are:
1) XLT comes with alloy rims
2) XLT comes with auto tailgate lock

And price dif between the two is around $2,900. The auto tailgate lock can be added and rims can be replaced too for less than $2,900. I would take the XL over the XLT in today's specs/prices.

It's a different calculus for 2024. You're probably better off with the XL.

In addition to the small upgrades, for '23 you had a much better chance of actually receiving a hybrid if it was XLT, thanks to the crazy allocation system.
