And I’d rather have the full sized spare if I needed one while pulling a trailer or being loaded. I see definite value.
Or you're 500 miles from home and don't want to mess with the hassle and expense of a tire shop to do a simple plug when you can fix it at home.

So the Full size spare refers to the rim size, not the tire size. The Rim size will match the rim size(17") for its standard set, with a donut tire. I made a short a while ago explaining this here,
Thank you Sarah for clarifying and I love watching the videos you and Tim Bartz post.

I had to use the full size spare. It worked fine and was WAY better than a donut. Not sure why it's even an option, donuts should not be a thing. Whike driving with the FS spare, I could not feel the difference. I have an fx4 with the 17's. Might notice a difference with the larger wheels in the bap

Well for the record I made it home and I could not really notice a difference in the way the truck handled. I guess like many in here I just find it irritating that we pay extra for a so-called full size spare only to find it doesn't match the other four wheels. Full size for what, a Prius?

Now if only it would quit raining so I can repair my tire and put the real wheel back on.

That's not what their Lux package said.
The wheel is the same steelie 17” that comes on the XL. The tire… not so much. Read it’s dimensions on the sidewall and compare to your stock wheel.

Agree 1000% Gone are the day's of the 5 tire rotation. At minimum I expected a matching tire on a steel wheel. Matching alloy wheel and tire would be ideal.

Kind of like all those "6-passenger" cars they sold back in the 70s and 80s, like the Dodge Aspen and Plymouth Volare. 6-passenger didn't mean 6 adults, now did it?

I had a Dakota R/T that had a matching alloy wheel and tire. My 2006 GTO had a space saver made by OZ.
Most beautiful spare tire/wheel I ever had. I think it had a high speed rating too. Been a while 🧐

It's unfortunate that a real full size tire with matching rim was not included with package and/or separate add-on .

I don't get the people complaining about false advertising. They say it's a full size tire and it is. It's rated for highway use and it's on a 17" rim. If Ford had said it was a same size or identical spare then I guess that would make sense. But they didn't.

Not gonna lie I fell for it too. I assumed it would be steelie, but with the same tire found on the main rims. Shoulda just called it a bigger donut. Looks pretty beefy in the preview image too. It's just a spare however it just would have been nice to have a matching tire. Live and learn.
