One flaw in that you sayIf you want the hybrid and not just a Maverick, I suggest you wait for what you ordered. You will get it eventually, whether it is a 2023 or 2024 model year.
The decision also depends upon the condition of your current daily driver.
I went in the opposite direction. I was undecided between an XL Hybrid and an XL Ecoboost with AWD when I ordered on 2021/09/11.
I ordered and received an XL Hybrid on 2022/08/13.
I decided shortly after receiving it that I liked how a friend's Ecoboost with AWD drove better than the Hybrid. I sold the XL Hybrid and ordered an XLT EB AWD with the Black Appearance Package. I would have gone with an XL again, except I think the Black Appearance Package rectified the issues I had with the standard XLT interior.
I am not worried about depreciation on the EB AWD since I plan on keeping it. And, I expect it to lose value after I buy it since there will be stock orders built if Ford doesn't get enough retail orders.
Bottom line: If you can be patient, wait for the configuration you really want to arrive at the dealership. It's worth the wait to get exactly what you wanted.
I heard the constraint is the battery. That seems ridiculous.MY personal decision on this would probably depend on the condition of my present vehicle. If you are worried about the cost of potential repairs (possibly for as long as the next two years) and cost of daily driving, I would consider the switch.
You may not get the 23. Ford clearly stated there will be no 23 to 24 rollovers, first in line, like this year. You may be playing the same game for a 24. Hopefully supply constraints will lessen but I think the demand for hybrid will still exceed supply capabilities.
You are probably right. The OP might not lose their place in line if the dealer manages the prioritization of orders properly. The OP would not, however, get any price protection.One flaw in that you say

If you don't get a 2023 I don't believe there is any roll over to a 2024 so you will have to order a 2024 and get in line with everyone else for that 2024 order I don't believe you will get any special treatment on a 2024 order if you had a 2023 order that never came so you may again not get a 2024 either.

Depends on the dealership. Tim made it sound in the stream last night you most likely get scheduled in March or April and then would get your truck probably in a month after that. So June would see to be a safe bet.If i change to a maverick hybrid to ecoboost with awd. What priority code should i have dealer put on the order? How long before I would get it? JUNE?
