I learned that the USB port shuts off when you turn the car off, but if you plug it in to the 12v power socket (via USB car charger) it will keep power/charging , even though the car is off.

Check it after 20 minutes or so. In my Bronco Sport they shut off eventually. Betting the Maverick is the same.

I have a little USB light in both of the USB-A slots in my Lariat Lux. Front goes off instantly but the rear takes a bit of time. Never sat and waited but checked back 30 minutes later and it was off. Not sure if its the same for the outlet or not.

I have the 12V cigarette lighter outlet on the rear of the console by the back seat. The power will auto shut off at about one hour.

'24 EB here. my front ciggie lighter power port stays on for at least 2+ hours. not wanting to bother testing further.

On Hybrid the 12 volt cigarette lighter port stays on after shut off UNTIL you open the door. Then shuts right off. 2023 hybrid xlt. Car before was 2020 ecosport. Lighter stayed powered for 1 hour 10 minutes then shut off. I would assume the ecoboost maverick is similar to my last car. BUT not the hybrid models.

I learned that as well. Since I use that port for dashcam power, I found a 12V adapter with a switch on Amazon that I can shut off manually, it truns itself back on when the truck restarts after some time.

My RV GPS is plugged into mine in the dash. It shuts itself off after 20 minutes.

I have a 12 volt digital read out on my 12 port. It has always shuts off when you open the car door when car is off. XLT Hybrid. Your stays on a few hours? Now that would be very different than all fords I have had in the past. I didn't see where it said it stays on a certain time in the manual picture above.

For the 1st 2 months it shut off when the door opened..... Pretty confusing.
I prefer it to shut off....

So it changed?I wonder if it depends on how much the computer thinks the 12 volt battery state of charge is?

Yes it changed on its own....
I doubt it has anything to do with the state of the battery voltage.
In the spring I'll wire up the radar detector directly but it was nice that it shut off so quickly.
Anyone else check when theirs shut off?

Mine will shut off after about 10 min. I have a voltmeter with ports in that all the time.
