#1 using Android Auto Apps Downloader, I downloaded fermata auto and using the browser was able to successfully watch DRM content (Disney +, Hulu, YouTube) on the infotainment screen. (All while parked, of course).

#2 Headwind... Man. I didn't know it would make THAT much difference I drove to my parents, about 20 miles south. On the way there I got about 33. I shrugged and thought, "meh, that's what it's supposed to do on the highway." On the way home I got 50 MPG highway. There's a 20 mph wind out of the south today. Makes logical sense, but I did not expect such a big difference.

Drag increases non-linearly as velocity increases, IIRC from my days as a USAF aviator. So yea, a 20 knot headwind means 70 mph becomes 90 mph into the wind. And on the return trip 70 mph is 50 mph into the wind. But the energy invested is exponential to the velocity delta. Going out vs coming back is essentially driving at 50 mph vs 90 mph - ignoring road friction, and just accounting for air drag.

As a cyclist, this principle kicks my butt whenever I'm riding into a really strong wind.

Like I said, it completely makes sense to me, but I still didn't really realize it works make that much of a difference. I guess, maybe it didn't make that much a difference in my old Ford focus as it does in the maverick.

I drive the same highway many times. With my Prius I will get 50 mpg on a 42 mile trip. On the way home the mileage will read 40.5 mpg. Going is more downhill.

The Mav has to be one of the least aerodynamic hybrids available. I’ve noticed the same with a strong headwind. Huge difference in mpg’s.

The wind in Texas was brutal this weekend. Don't have my hybrid yet, but drove to Corpus yesterday against the wind and got around 27 mpg. Drove home today with the wind and got 34 mpg.
