If this is how bad the old ranger was, glad I never got one. 🤣 It's so cheaply built it's not even funny. Truck isn't even 2 year old and it has more issues than my last four vehicles combined.
Seems like you're in that percentage or two of people who get unlucky with lemons unfortunately. Everyone says Hondas are great, but our first and last Honda blew it's engine in less than 2 days. Most of the people I know who have Hondas new and old have issue after issue with them. That doesn't mean all Hondas are bad, it just means when you produce something in the hundreds of thousands or millions you're gonna see hundreds or thousands of people having issues.

Maybe. But you can get 2 Mavericks (with a 10yr/100k mile warrenty) for the price of an average F150 and spend $10k less in fuel over 10 years. So unless you need to tow big things, you'll almost always come out way ahead financially with a Maverick.
10 yr/100k bumper to bumper? Battery warranty doesn't count.

Bumper to bumper. Got it through Long MacArthur but other dealerships like Granger are selling full-coverage extended warranties for $50 or $100 over cost. It doesn't add much to the overall price.

Agreed. There really isn't an apples-to-apples comparison to another truck on the market, yet.

But your point is that the Maverick is a lower-quality build than other trucks (probably true), and therefore not worth purchasing for the long term.

My point is that most other trucks on the market, like the ones you own personally, have a 200%+ cost of ownership compared to the Maverick. So unless an F150 has more than twice the useful life as the average Maverick, there's no financial benefit to its longevity.

The F150 has other benefits. But the durability comparison is moot.

I do love my Maverick, but I'm also a huge F150 fan. If I had a need for one, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Pretty much, I know we tend to be pretty negative on these forums, but considering they basically are a home to worst case scenarios, it seems like the maverick long term won't be as much of a money pit as other trucks. Worst case scenario, you're having to spend $50 for a new battery, and a few hundred bucks for new CV axles.

By comparison, with other forums, like the new tundra forums, you have quite a few people who spent 60-90 grand on a new tundra, and had to replace the motor with only a few thousand miles on it. Or civic forums where there are tons of horror stories about engine issues. Having to get a new battery, or axle boots isn't fun, but those are pretty mild repairs all things considered.
