Will do! I've yet to see ANY Maverick in Cyber Orange. In fact, I've only seen 5-6 on the road at all... And three of those were Area 51 like mine (though not a First Edition, which Ford seems to have saved to be the last 22's delivered), one was White, one was Cactus Gray, and the other was Velocity Blue.
I've seen a ton of Mavericks around Round Rock, both fleet and non-fleet, but mine is the only cyber orange one I've seen. I have seen the color on Broncos and Bronco Sports around my area. I saw one red First Edition in Austin awhile ago.

I've noticed in reading through several threads that there are a bunch of us Texans who have either ordered a Maverick or are about to. I thought it would be interesting if all Texans would list their location (city or town), the dealer they are working with, what build they have already ordered or have in mind, and anything else that might be interesting or helpful to fellow Texans. I think good dealer experience would be helpful to others as well as dealers you would not recommend. Not sure if this is allowed in the forum rules to talk bad about specific dealers but we'll soon find out!

I live in a golf course community known as Holly Lake Ranch. It is a very pretty place nestled in the Piney Woods of east Texas, roughly half way between Shreveport, LA. and Dallas, Texas. All the dealers around here are small, country mom and pop businesses. If you go to the "city" such as Longview or Tyler, there are a few bigger dealerships but I have found them to be no better than our more rural "locals". I ordered my Lariat from Texas Country Ford, Winnsboro, Tx. Once they got the hang of the Maverick ordering system they did very well and I have received confirmation from Ford that my order has been accepted. I have already recommended them to several forum members here in Texas looking to order a Maverick.

Another reason for my starting this thread is that I recall my early days at the Honda Ridgeline forum about 15 years ago where threads like this were started in various states. We Ridgeline owners would often get together for lunches and compare and show off our Ridgelines, mods and accessories. We all learned a great deal from each other. We would also go to car shows and do various other things as a group and the Ridgeline caravan was quite impressive. It was a good time and some of us even went on hunting trips together and shared other interests. Maybe something social like this can happen down the road with Texas Maverick owners. Anyway, Texas Mavericks is a cool name (not only for the basketball team) and deserves a thread of its own - so here it is Texas!!!
San Marcos Area 51 XL EB ordered Jan 22 received April 22. Would love to have more maverick friends

I have always been a black, white, or silver vehicle person, but your cyber orange, rapid red, and alto blue Mavericks look great!

San Antonio here. I ordered my 2022 Maverick XLT Hybrid ten days after they began taking orders for that model year. Did it on line of course. Went into the dealer the next day to sign the initial purchase order (Red McCombs). No problems at all. Time went by. I actually forgot that I had purchased this truck. 20 of Feb 2022 the salesman called. Truck build will be week of Feb 28. Delivered to dealer in about 10 days. Feb 27 the salesman called again. Bad news and good news. My truck will not be built due to shortage of chips ... but ... another one will be in on March 3 and the guy who placed the order now does not want the truck. He called again at 8:05am on March3. The truck is at the dealer. I dash in and do a test drive. Fell in love with the truck after the 26 mile test drive. Cactus grey Hybrid edition with luxury package upgrade. I now have almost 17,000 miles on the truck. I have made three trips to the East Coast and back since buying the truck. Never a problem. Quiet, easy to drive, plenty of pep when you need it, and on the last trip I got 42.5 mpg. For all the miles on the truck I have gotten 38.6 mpg. I usually drive on ECO mode. The markup was only $2,100.00. Not as bad as some that I have read about here. Today it is at the dealer having the air bag recall taken care of. I am now seeing quite a few of these "baby trucks" in the wild here in SA. In addition to the great gas milage I can park the truck in my garage. To me that is a real plus. I had no problem carrying 60 bags of mulch in the bed and there was no sag at all. I towed a small flatbed trailer (980 lbs) with some pavers for my son-in-law. Again no problems at all. Smooth as silk.

Thanks to living in the NE Texas boonies (and to Ford's total lack of advertising for this truck), I did not learn about the Maverick until well after the MY22 order books were closed - about the time we moved to the Austin, TX area. Once I discovered it, I thought it would be the perfect truck for our suburban needs: decent useful load, light towing, a bed that was "big enough" for Home Depot runs, and pretty amazing mileage for a truck! I just wished I could actually see one in person!

I finally got to see a Maverick (Ecoboost Lariat) in person at a local dealership, and got to take it for a test drive. I fell in love with it immediately! The styling was spot-on, and the interior was both roomy and comfortable. I was really surprised by how much I liked the interior. It was WAY better in person than I had expected, given the "cheap" materials and low price point. I was quite surprised that I liked the Lariat's ActiveX seats because I normally prefer cloth, and the pictures I had seen made the color seem "off" somehow. The color of this particular truck was not one of my favorites, but honestly, the total package was just so nice I could have overlooked that...

Performance with the EcoBoost engine was pretty amazing, and I was briefly thinking "Heck, Jim - you might just buy this one to drive while you wait for a hybrid order to get fulfilled..." But by the time we got back, someone else had already put a deposit down on it, despite the dealer's $10K ADM sticker price...

After months of searching for my "ideal" Maverick (Cyber Orange Hybrid Lariat with CP360), I found a local dealership with a Hybrid First Edition in Area 51 (my 2nd favorite color). Realizing my odds of getting my '23 hybrid order built were less than 40% by that point, I went ahead and put a deposit on that truck, test drove it (almost as quick as the EB version, and every bit as nice), and by the time we returned from the test drive, I was sold. I bought it that day, and I have loved every minute of ownership! It has been mechanically and cosmetically issue-free, has met every expectation I had, and has exceeded expectations in quite a few areas – most notably the fuel economy, which is almost 10% better than EPA the estimates.

The Maverick Hybrid is a lot of fun to drive, whether you're just going with the flow or trying to maximize fuel efficiency. It's made driving in town a LOT more fun, because those traffic jams that used to be annoying as all get-out now are just another way to boost the hybrid's efficiency! I've driven it on three 500-600 mile round trips (both solo and with 2-3 other people in the cab with me) and it's a very enjoyable highway cruiser, though I find taking back-road routes a LOT more fun to drive, and with more interesting scenery, as well.

I've used the Maverick to haul furniture, mulch, river rock, and other Home Depot-type loads. The Maverick's lower bed-height is REALLY appreciated (especially by my wife), as is the lower step-in height which makes it so much easier to enter/exit the Maverick than our previous full-size pickups. This is the perfect vehicle for our uses, and I'm enjoying it very much!

I stumbled onto my Alto Blue in November 2021. It is an XLT EB. It was very much being the right place at the right time. I have to say I have enjoyed this little truck a lot. I am beginning to see a few more Mavs in Round Rock and Hutto area. Some are commercial, most are not. It's good to see them.

I'm in Cedar Park, but I'm in Round Rock quite a bit: '22 Area 51 First Edition - soon to be replaced with a '23 Cyber Orange Lariat being built this week!

I think I have seen you a few times. My truck has "Maverick" outlined in red on the tailgate.

Did you put a cover around your rear Ford emblem?

I took it off and used Plasti Dip. Pretty simple to do. I probably have the process on here somewhere.

We should get the Round Rock area Mavs together for a mini meet. Grab some beers or something.
