Worst people at ANY business I have ever had the misfortune to talk to. Paris Ford Lincoln Mercury. We needed the thing for prom the next weekend or we would have left them in the dust. At least since we bought it then they didn’t get to add on the markup $$$$$$ to the next sucker. We only paid the price increase from December that we shouldn’t have had to ($110) It was the attitude that floored us honestly

191 Days after I ordered my new Maverick it was delivered to my very rural dealer. Hill Country Ford in Goldthwaite Texas. Upon arriving I was ecstatic to see full set of Michelin tires on a sunny day shiny Velocity Blue Lariat.

I did the entire buy over the phone on Oct 27th and got Ford accepted order e-mail on 29 October. Since then I got 9 more e-mails on status changes up to final prep e-mail. I only called and pestered the dealer 3 times all about discounts and financing options. In the end Ford did not honor the $750 off that ended 4-4-2022. OH well they did give the Xplan, and $500 military discounts. I ended up financing through my Bank as same APR as FoMoCo.

On delivery I finally met the Owner as he is the only salesman and finance guy. Got introduced to service staff and as we went to the car the owner said "I don't have anyone here who knows as much about this truck as you do." I told him no sweat this is not my first new Ford and I have read and re-read the owners manual at least 3 times... we both laughed.

I did my check list , a lot based on known problems from this forum. From underneath I asked the owner if he had a way to put in and "Engineering field request to Ford." He said he would chat with reginal guy next time they met. This was about drivers side lack of debris and water protection to tail light area. I do intend to do the shield fix noted here on the forum.

We both figured out the Ford App and not noting any obvious problems we went inside to pay and chat a bit. Totally painless, zero up sale, a promise to see if FoMoCo had any way to send me the $750 later as I had held up to the implied contract, not my fault it took 29 days shipping.

We spent a good hour just two good ole boys BSing and playing what if he had found a way to order half dozen for his lot considering they are selling fast with very high ADMs. I suspect the 23 MY Mavericks will have several orders from him. He does not seem to think the supply chain and new vehicle shortages will be fixed in next 36 months, I tend to agree.

The drive home was interesting as I have drive Jeep Cherokees the last 5 years and Ford controls are all opposite side on steering wheel and stalks. Thanks to lane sense and feedback I stayed in my lane (mostly....grin) 52 mile rural 75 mph highway home, light traffic as I decreased to 50ish then acceleration up to 80 ish and back every 5 miles.

Stopped at Lampasas VFW to see if anyone wanted to see the first Maverick in the county. Probably generated 3 future sales when I told them what the full boat truck cost ($38K with TT&L)

The Only issue I fixed at home was to drop Tire pressure from 50Lbs down to 37 once it was cooled down.

My dealer reached out to me today with a production date of 6/27 and a VIN. I ordered my Maverick almost a year ago on 6/15/2021. I never thought this day would come.

Stopped by AutoNation Corpus Christi to change colors yesterday, and to my surprise I moved to Priority 2 this week. Sales manager claims there are 50 or so before mine, and I ordered 10/28. Not sure if I believe 50 before me, but not complaining about moving up to Priority 2, even if it sits there for a few months.

How did that go? I have an order at the same dealership and have been considering requesting a color change as well so I'm curious to hear more about your experience.

Just curious, how many October hybrids are at PC2? I'm in central tx and my PC still hasn't moved. Wondering if my region is slow.

I'm a November order in North Texas with no luck yet. I am considering changing the color too as I think that is why I haven't gone to production. GRRRRR!

If I change it will be to the chili hot pepper red as sometimes it has an burnt orange glint to it and that is what I really wanted. However, if it should get selected before i do that--not an issue. ;)

Sales manager said it was in priority 2 so can't make changes, I didn't want to explain how Tim has said you can change it, so just left it as it was.

He also said that they have like 50-60 in priority 2 ordered before me.

Did they tell you about the "Gulf Cost Protection Package" when you ordered ? I am going to push back on it when I get a VIN, but we will see.

Yours won't be the first, i just took delivery of my hybrid at 5 star Ford :)
Just saw this. He did say one of the first, not THE first. 🙂 Congrats! How was the experience? Did they try to sell you any add-ons? Did they honor the original MSRP? Mine just went into production and I see the window sticker reflects the price increase that occurred after I ordered.

I've noticed in reading through several threads that there are a bunch of us Texans who have either ordered a Maverick or are about to. I thought it would be interesting if all Texans would list their location (city or town), the dealer they are working with, what build they have already ordered or have in mind, and anything else that might be interesting or helpful to fellow Texans. I think good dealer experience would be helpful to others as well as dealers you would not recommend. Not sure if this is allowed in the forum rules to talk bad about specific dealers but we'll soon find out!

I live in a golf course community known as Holly Lake Ranch. It is a very pretty place nestled in the Piney Woods of east Texas, roughly half way between Shreveport, LA. and Dallas, Texas. All the dealers around here are small, country mom and pop businesses. If you go to the "city" such as Longview or Tyler, there are a few bigger dealerships but I have found them to be no better than our more rural "locals". I ordered my Lariat from Texas Country Ford, Winnsboro, Tx. Once they got the hang of the Maverick ordering system they did very well and I have received confirmation from Ford that my order has been accepted. I have already recommended them to several forum members here in Texas looking to order a Maverick.

Another reason for my starting this thread is that I recall my early days at the Honda Ridgeline forum about 15 years ago where threads like this were started in various states. We Ridgeline owners would often get together for lunches and compare and show off our Ridgelines, mods and accessories. We all learned a great deal from each other. We would also go to car shows and do various other things as a group and the Ridgeline caravan was quite impressive. It was a good time and some of us even went on hunting trips together and shared other interests. Maybe something social like this can happen down the road with Texas Maverick owners. Anyway, Texas Mavericks is a cool name (not only for the basketball team) and deserves a thread of its own - so here it is Texas!!!
I live in Valley View Texas just South Of Gainesville Texas I have on order a 2022 Ford maverick First Edition Rapid Red It shows a Build week of June 13th 2022

Gulf Coast Protection Package ? What is that —every time there is a hurricane warning on the Gulf, a staff member hops in your car, and drives it 85 mph with only one “short” stop at a Bucees , and drives it to Abilene ?

haha no. It is ceramic, tint, interior protection and interior/paint warranty.

I’m guessing 3m scotchgaurd, and some spray on ceramic.

$999 “mandatory” add on, but I’m going to ask for the contracts and details for each.

I don’t mind paying fair price on tint. I don’t mind paying a fair price on ceramic I can’t do, but not Jim Bob doing a hybrid ceramic spray that I can do myself. Given paint issues I’ve seen, and experienced, that protection may be worth it. Just not interested in blindly dropping 1k.

I think having a trade in that’s in high demand works to my advantage negotiating too.

50-60? Yikes. I guess my old Dakota is going to have to hang in there a while longer.

No, I was not told about the Gulf Coast Protection Package. You will receive yours before me so I'd sincerely appreciate updates on your experiences with the dealership.
