Depreciation will catch up hard on these over optioned mavericks. The market knows it a 20k truck. I would hate to take that hit.
...not sure you could have purchased a maverick lariat hybrid awd with all that comes with it for $20k, even in 2022. Maybe a bare bones xl...that is now $26-$28, not $40K...

I also bought a 2022 hybrid one of the first orders. Have love my truck and what I paid for it.
I prob don’t fit the current Maverick demographic. Female and sixty plus.
Im going to get a 2025 fx4. To tow my boat, get up to the mountains…
Live my best life. Go boomers!
Did you go to Sycamore Jr High? It would be such a coincidence if you are who I think you are..................

The basic economics of it show it's not really that far off from where it started.

I paid $26,000 out the door for my '22 XLT and $33,100 out the door for the exact same '25 XLT (minus the $1,900 Luxury Package I added to the '25). The difference between the 2 "identical" Mavericks was $7,100.

The '25 has increased 27% ($7,100/$26,000). Inflation over the last 3.5 years since they started building the Maverick is estimated at 20% (depending on what you buy and who you believe).

If we believe inflation in 3.5 years was only 20% (I look at my grocery bill and think 20% is way too low), the Maverick only outpaced inflation by 7%. 7% of 26,000 is $1,820. For an extra $1,820 I got a larger screen, Sync4, wireless CarPlay, and presumably a more reliable vehicle (all the kinks of a first Model Year vehicle should be worked out by now).

Adjusting for inflation, the '25 Maverick is $1,820 more than the '22 Maverick. That's not bad for a bigger screen, wireless CarPlay, Sync4, and more reliability. When you adjust for inflation, the Maverick hasn't abandoned its roots or forgotten where it came from.

I'm hoping to get my $500 deposit back. I've decided against purchasing the Maverick Lariat with the BAP and Eruption package. While I can afford to pay cash, the final price of around $45,000 (including taxes) seems excessive for this vehicle.

Although it's a great truck, I can't justify spending $45,000. For that price, it enters the territory of vehicles like the Tesla Model Y and Ford Ranger XLT, which offer more value. I'd be willing to pay $37,000, but $45,000 feels like a significant markup simply because it's a hybrid truck. The price difference could buy a substantial amount of gas.

I understand that inflation plays a role, and perhaps the 2022 Maverick was underpriced. However, a price increase of almost $14,000 for the Lariat trim seems excessive. While it might be worthwhile for some, I'll wait for a better opportunity.

sorry to hear that but it sounds like you ordered the wrong truck.

worse than that would be actually buying the wrong truck. neither of the vehicles you mentioned are all that similar to a maverick, so it seems like you're possibly not buying the right vehicle at all, if you were to get a maverick.

I bought my Maverick because I was looking for an old beat up truck to do my hunny-do's and manly things around the house. I had enjoyed my 50mpg Prius but I can't haul things in it without destroying the interior. The Maverick came out. I waited a year to see if any major issues came up. I decided to just get a new truck. The price was right and I am glad I got it. I have used it for hauling and picking up stuff and I get 45mpg in the city and 42 on the highway (I drive fast).

It was either the Maverick or an old beat up 1970's rusted truck. Got the Maverick.

I am not sure how you arrived at your numbers. My 22 Lariat EB AWD with most of the major options available was $33,500. For the same options for my 25 Lariat EB AWD, I am purchasing this Maverick for $35,900. That is only $2400 difference for a nice upgrade with a new design engine, bigger screen, 360 camera system and pro trailer assist package. These upgrades are definitely worth $2400 imho.

With little effort you can buy a 25 off the lot.
I have dealers calling me to see if I'm interested in trading in. No reason to place an order if you can walk in and even negotiate. Placing one likely results in no discount and low ball trade in because they know how bad you want it.

Maverick party is over.
I looked online and couldn't find a single Lariat ,Hybrid, AWD available. Every Lariat that was available had the 2.0 engine.

I'm just comparing the lowest trim to the highest trim.

My mentality was this truck had all the goodies that I had on my Camry xle (2008, I got in 2009 traded it in for Maverick in 2024) and a few others extra the Camry didn't have. It was only 34k, and I can tow with it where I couldn't on the Camry and it's a pick up to haul stuff, which I couldn't do with the Camry. The closest I could find was a Tacoma which was maybe five or 6,000 more and it was slightly longer than I wanted.

I was responding to your comment, claiming the Lariat trim went up $14,000 from the 22 MY to MY25. When you compare apples to apples, how do you get your numbers?
