How many potential buyers actually test drove both engines before their order? During test drive of the Hybrid, I felt the truck was ok on acceleration. It is a hybrid that is heavy, so a bit of a slow dog especially during freeway on ramp. The Ecoboost was very different with the turbo to move along the little 4 cylinder motor. I am a bit untrustworthy of the mileage range calculated on the Hybrid. I opted for the very functional Ecoboost. I currently drive a real hybrid Prius, Yes not fast, but sips the fuel. I see the hybrid as a city truck. Kudos for Ford to enter the market. If the factory can deliver quality trucks, during this time, everyone wins!
You call the hybrid Mav slow yet you own a Prius which I personally know is slow. Motor Trend has already proven the hybrid Mav isn't much slower then the EB.

For my daily driving the hybrid would be more practical, but I just dislike the feel of a hybrid. I like the tranny shifting through the gears and I like the instant acceleration of the EB.

It's a matter of personal choice. Great to be an American!

A real hybrid Prius? Scoreboarding us on our home field?

Mav gets better mileage. And the combo engine/hybrid has a long reliability from the old Escape hybrid cabs hitting 300K.

Standard Hybrid is what makes this unique.
:ROFLMAO: You do realize a current gen Prius (not the plug-in) gets over 50MPG EPA (58 City/53 HWY), the Maverick isn't even in the same league.

I'm the same way, hybrid is far more practical for the most part, but when I have driven one it just feels soulless if that makes sense. Very disconnected from the vehicle and a bland experience.

So many people ordered a maverick without even seeing one in person and hardly anyone had a chance to “test drive” either let alone both. However most made up their minds for fuel & price NOBODY offered standard hybrid truck @ $20k or AWD under $25k both offered crew cab/5 passenger seating and since most have seen there’s not much difference in the power just a preference of awd or fuel

How do you like the sewing machine sound of the engine?

True, I ordered mine based on reviews and the reliability of the 2.5 motor and the eCVT. Also, I am under no obligation to buy once mine arrives! If I decide to keep my Ranger the dealer will have no problems selling the Mav that I ordered. I am still trying to find one to test drive!

Soooooooooo much better than the droning, detached appliance feel of the alternative powertrain.
