After the last time we had runaway inflation the interest rates was much higher like in the mid to high teens even for houses. It can get worse. I knew the auto manufacturers would have to do something to get folks to buy cars so I waited. Oldsmobile was the first to offer a low low rate of 7% and I jumped on it quickly and got a Olds Cutlass.

Let the dealer prep the truck since you trust them. I've had 30-some new vehicles, all prepped by the dealers. Talk with the prep manager before it arrives and let them know any requests you have. If they meet you they are more likely to keep an eye on it. I always prepared a checklist to give to the manager of items I would be checking.

Some people on the forum hate every dealer, think they are all incompetent and would rather give their first born to the devil before letting anyone in a dealership touch their vehicle.

1. No, not really. 7% is the lowest ford rate i believe on the maverick

2. I believe you can use PassPoints as payment, but dont quote that.

3. No

4. I would suggest going to a LineX company, not the dealer

5. Not entirely sure there. Many seem to leak a bit
When I got mine last week, the lowest rate I could find was 8.7. The Prime rate after the Fed hike is currently 8.5. I saw someone say they got 4 and some change from navy fed though…once I read that though I was really kicking myself for not calling them.

I got the gator SFX from rough country and got a small discount but got free shipping…it’s a soft trifold and they threw in extra weather stripping for me to use as needed.

My mav should be coming in next week Black with BAP, XLT,EB,Tow Package, and SIBL. Just did a little bank shoping and the best I can get is 5% through the credit union. I got the SIBL through ford as it was the same prices a local after market. Also looking at hard tri-fold tonneau covers through ebay around $400/$500 range.

You could use your fordpass points for a bedcover
, I ordered mine with the Tri fold bed cover, I have not noticed any leaks after rain storms or car washes.
I also ordered mine without the spray in bedliner, thinking I would get it after I bought the truck , used my Fordpass points and bought Bedrug instead it's padded, wil protect the bed from dents and is easier on the knees. It can be installed on a sprayin bedliner or paint . I think it's all I need.

Hello,

My hybrid Maverick is arriving next week, so I should be taking delivery most likely by the end of the week, I have a few questions:-

1- Are there any promos of special finance rates? with Mach E, the rate was the same as when you ordered the car, is that still the same?
2- I have X-Plan so will use that, I also have FordPass rewards from my previous purchases 84000 points, can I use these with the down payment?
3- Can you use X-Plan with the Farmer's Bureau $500 rebate?
4- I removed the spray-in bedliner, so I will add that, do I let the dealer do it or do it somewhere else? I am in San Diego, what's usually the cost of spray-in bed liner?
5- Rain resistant bed cover, what are my options? I don't want to spend big $$$ just something for that one or two times per year when it's raining and I may have luggage or something else carrying, should I get that from Ford as well or not?

Thanks.
I decided on the Ford roll up bed cover after a lot of consideration. I chose the roll up because it'll give you the most room when hauling something the length of the bed. I like the quality of the Ford bed cover and am quite happy with it. How water- tight you get any roll up bed cover to be depends on how well you install and situate it. I live in Florida and mine keeps things dry even during intense downpours. There is some water around the tailgate, but you'd have to get an additional tail gate seal for that for about $25.

For guidance and tips on the install, I searched out videos on Maverick roll up bed covers install on the internet, including a couple specifically for the Ford version. They helped me make sense of the instructions that came in the box. Finally, I think the Ford roll up bed cover is a tad shorter than other brands, which makes getting it just right a bit harder. I used my purchase points towards the drop in bed liner (which I also really like), and got a 15% discount from Ford on the roll up cover in May.

Best wishes to you on the fun and enjoyment ahead.

We got the cheap OEM rollup, no issues with water in GA/SC monsoons....

I would recommend asking them to check and re-check EVERY rebate which might be available. Ours didn't see the 22-23 private offer so I had to go back a few times to get it figured out.

If that's the going finance rate for the Maverick right now, I'd leave it on the lot. You buying a truck or a dang house? Funk that. For my '22 my percentage rate was 1.9%. Ain't no way I'd buy a truck at 7%!
same, I got 1.9% on my ‘22 when I purchased in December ‘22

Most bed covers will leak. I got a Lund for around 570. from Amazon. I installed it myself. Very little leaks going through a car wash.
Interest Rates. I search local rate at credit union, and banks so I would what I could get. Ford did give me a good deal.

I got Linx SIBL from small local town nearby for $430 (life time warranty on material)
Dealer will almost always be higher for SIBL.
I installed the Gator Tri-Fold Tonneau and after 2+ years not a drop of water in the bed. ($230 delivered on a Black Friday sale)

Some of y'all have a bit to learn about interest rates. Ford Credit rates are as good as any brand offering for non subvented rates. Those are rates where Ford pays down the interest rate to entice buyers. Ford isn't having to entice Maverick buyers.....
The best rates on a new car you will find will be at a credit union. Figure 5% or higher now. Rates at banks and other lenders in the 7-8% range are the BEST of rates right now. Nothing your Dealer or Ford can do about that. They CAN shop your loan around to find the best rate available. Or you can do that yourself.

As a senior citizen, my advice to you is to not try to put it in gear with the windshield wiper stalk!!!!

Yeah, I'm within your range with credit scores as well and 5.5% would make me walk away from the deal. Highest I've ever gone in even with iffy med/high credit scores was 2.9%.

This is a fine example of working hard to maintain a stellar credit score and getting screwed by dealerships, just because they think their product is important to the consumer. No thanks.
You guys missed the 80’s... my first house was 8%, and I still made a ton 7 years later.

When my mom bought our house back in 1969, she went in at 13%!

I've bought quite a few houses from 1995-2013 and have been anywhere from 10% to 3.5%.

A car loan is NOT a mortgage rate, nor are they even comparable...unless you plan on living in your Maverick. (That bed is kinda small, so you may want to rethink that.) ;)
