Is anyone building the solid tailgate tie downs for use when you add the assist cylinder? Not the floppy d-ring type but the solid one similar to the original. I know there's been a couple members here sell them at one time but I missed that boat.

Thanks

I ordered these from Amazon, although I haven't recieved them yet. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CZN3DMKK?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1
Seems that since I bought my strut, a few bracket offerings have showed up on Amazon and eBay. Prices are good, but 2 week shipping makes me pretty sure a person has to wait for it to come from China.

When I installed my strut, I made my own and it's very basic.

Works well and clears just fine. A few people asked if I'd make them one, so I made a few more. If anyone would like one, I posted a thread here in the For Sale forum. I ship same day so there should be minimal wait to get it.

Are you a certified welder? Weld NDE? pull tested?
Just joking.

I made my own, pretty similar to everyone else's. HOWEVER, be aware that all these work-arounds protrude up from what would otherwise be a flat surface and can interfere with some payloads. Few things in life are as easy as we might like....

He isnt certified but I did inspect the picture while cracking the tab on a High-Life. It'll do.🍻

Also I still dont get the purpose of the dampner. I got shoulder problems, elbow pain, wrist trouble, and arthitis in all my fingers 5 of which have been broken. 2 more than once. My tailgate still doesnt even register as a thing that needs assistance. I guess I could see a voice activated opening and closing one being useful. But dampened? For money? You could get the same effect out of an old bungee cord and a few minutes of creativity. I dunno, the world has become a strange place. And Im not even 40 yet.

🍻 Right back at ya.

I don't buy accessories just for the reason to bolt as much extra junk on the truck like it seems a lot of people do. But I do appreciate the strut for a few reasons.

Only a few times in my life have I opened the tailgate and accidently let it fall to an open position under its own weight. I really don't like that very unexpected sh*t-my-pants BANG! Someday I'll be older where that has to be a heart attack risk. Dang is that loud.

When I have full hands/arms, I can lift the gate latch with any particular finger and allow the gate to drop to open position slowly without me having to lower it there by hand.

I have one and enjoy it. The nice thing is, you don't have to get it. It's called to each his own.

I know, I know. I just find it funny. Easiest lightest tailgate in the history of pickups.

Isnt it? Gravity and such? Causes weighted objects to fall relative to their heft.
Actually no, that isn't true. All objects fall, due to gravity, at the same rate of acceleration. If you cut the tailgate into four separate pieces, do you think they will all fall slower because each is lighter than the whole?

If you let the tailgate fall, as is, it comes down quickly.

Amazon has tailgate replacement tie downs for Maverick. 2 for $23.99.

I ordered these earlier today. Finally the secondary market catches up to what people on here have been fabricating up themselves for years!
