Has anyone installed the lift cylinders on the tailgate and or hood of your Maverick? They are not very exspensive I am thinking of putting one on my tailgate for sure. My wife drives mine more than I do and it would definitely make lowering the tailgate easier for her.
If she keeps driving my truck I might need to buy another!
I have one and I love it

Yes, it was very easy to install. Just follow the instructions and make sure you have the proper tools. You may want to use silicon jell or vaseline on the bolts to make it easier to screw them tight. I had an issue with the bottom bolt.

Yes, added the tailgate best thing ever. Bought it week before my truck came, on Amazon 2023 Lariat.

Installed the tailgate assist today. Took about 20 minutes. Super easy. Best $27 mod you can make. Buy the Dee Zee from Amazon. It’s the same thing that Ford Sells and it’s $23 cheaper.

Finally got around to installing mine today. Was pretty easy, the trickiest part, as others have noticed, is the bottom plate and nut that goes in the tailgate. I found using a plastic trim tool between the plate and metal to keep pressure on the nut and plate made tightening it relatively easy:

I'm thinking of installing the tailgate assist kit, I'm surprised how heavy the tailgate is! A couple of questions though:
I know that gas struts can get stiff when it's hot and it does get hot here in the Mohave Valley - 115 plus, will that make it hard to close the tailgate on a hot day?
Also it looks like you have to remove the 2 black bracket thingy's that I assume are there to guide the tailgate support cables. I figured the Ford in their infinite wisdom put them there for a reason, has anyone had a problem with the cables getting trapped?

Do you need Torx Plus drivers to install these? Thought I read that somewhere but can't find it.

The cables get jammed by the bottle openers all the time. I'm planning to remove them just for that reason. If you've done the assist kit, do the cables catch on that?

I've had no problems with the assist strut contacting the cable.

If you'd like to re-add a tie-down bracket that clears the assist strut, I've made a few and have them for sale here.

Also doesn't interfere with the motion of the cable or jam it up, if that's a problem you're having with the factory bracket.

I have one. I ordered the KlutchTech model for my 2024 Lariat, from Amazon. It had a 5% coupon with it, so it was $23 and some minor change. It was less than a 20 minute install. I love it, and it definitely makes opening the tailgate very simple and smooth.
The KlutchTech model comes with a Maverick sticker, to place along the length of it. Kind of neat looking.

I added a folding tie-down rated a 900lbs. To replace the oem tie-down/bottle opener, that I had to remove when I installed the strut.

I have installed both the tailgate and hood dampeners, very easy and fairly quick installs. Hardet part of both was removing the clip for the windshield washer fluid. Both work great
I wonder if the washer is in a different location between hybrid and Ecoboost. I didn't have any trouble with anything when I installed mine.
