Installed the tailgate assist on mine - Love it so much I'm going to order the hood assist.

I have one and I love itHas anyone installed the lift cylinders on the tailgate and or hood of your Maverick? They are not very exspensive I am thinking of putting one on my tailgate for sure. My wife drives mine more than I do and it would definitely make lowering the tailgate easier for her.
If she keeps driving my truck I might need to buy another!
Yes, it was very easy to install. Just follow the instructions and make sure you have the proper tools. You may want to use silicon jell or vaseline on the bolts to make it easier to screw them tight. Yes, added the tailgate best thing ever. Bought it week before my truck came, on Amazon 2023 Lariat.Has anyone installed the lift cylinders on the tailgate and or hood of your Maverick? It’s on my amazon prime day list!Installed the tailgate assist today. Took about 20 minutes. Super easy. Best $27 mod you can make. Buy the Dee Zee from Amazon. It’s the same thing that Ford Sells and it’s $23 cheaper.
Only have to remove the one tiedown bottle opener on the drivers side. they are just tiedown points nothing more.I'm thinking of installing the tailgate assist kit, I'm surprised how heavy the tailgate is! A couple of questions though:
I know that gas struts can get stiff when it's hot and it does get hot here in the Mohave Valley - 115 plus, will that make it hard to close the tailgate on a hot day?
Also it looks like you have to remove the 2 black bracket thingy's that I assume are there to guide the tailgate support cables. I figured the Ford in their infinite wisdom put them there for a reason, has anyone had a problem with the cables getting trapped?
The cables get jammed by the bottle openers all the time. I'm planning to remove them just for that reason. If you've done the assist kit, do the cables catch on that?I'm thinking of installing the tailgate assist kit, I'm surprised how heavy the tailgate is! A couple of questions though:

I added a folding tie-down rated a 900lbs. To replace the oem tie-down/bottle opener, that I had to remove when I installed the strut.Only have to remove the one tiedown bottle opener on the drivers side. they are just tiedown points nothing more.
I wonder if the washer is in a different location between hybrid and Ecoboost. I didn't have any trouble with anything when I installed mine.I have installed both the tailgate and hood dampeners, very easy and fairly quick installs. Hardet part of both was removing the clip for the windshield washer fluid. Both work great
