Mine does as well. I usually only am using CarPlay and it does it usually only once a song. Often within the first minute of each one. I got the truck at the end of November and it’s done it since I bought it. 24 Lariat Hybrid

Poll results have made it clear that this isn't an isolated issue, and based on your comments many of you aren't bothered enough by it to make a dealer trip out of it. The call I received from my dealer today said that issues with warranty rates below 7-10% are basically ignored by Ford. While there's definitely some sample bias involved well more than 10% of trucks are impacted by this.

(Copy paste from my other thread)
@Ford Motor Company can/will an SSM be put out for this issue with an ETA on a fix like you did with the dash rattles in SSM 52431? This is a widespread issue with Sync 3-equipped Mavericks and can't be ignored.
It's more that I lack faith in Ford to fix the issue and the assumption that I'd be wasting my time. But look forward to a fix!

What's more annoying than the skip is that sometimes the bottom nav bar on AA becomes unresponsive and I cannot change which app is up. Only fixable by restarting AA.

Just went on a 15 hour trip and skipped the whole time using apple carplay and plugged in with 2 different cables, 2 different phones. Doesn't seem to be an issue with radio but don't listen to radio much. Hoping they can just fix with an update or something but doesn't seem like there's much hope

honestly, I would be surprised if this is released before the backup camera fix for non-sync3 trucks. no question that's a more critical issue.

... I did want to comment on one other thing, though. I switched from Google Maps to Waze around 2 weeks ago to see if that would help.

quite the opposite, actually. waze often totally dies when navigating and pulling traffic data for the next turn or exit. google maps was mostly reliable and would die once one twice per 3 hours of driving (on a long trip). but waze often dies one short trips, and it's always right when it would zoom in for a turn or exit.

Agreed on the backup camera fix. I purchased my Lariat off the lot - I really preferred to get a cheaper xl or xlt but couldn't with the stop-sell. Glad I was pushed into the Lariat for the ACC as that's a game changer on long trips.

I used Google Maps with very few glitches the entire trip and I attributed those to the phone just freaking out. I was wondering if having maps running the whole time was causing the audio "skipping" but seems like it's just a widespread issue.

Yeah I still haven't gotten any confirmation that a fix is on the horizon...

no luck here. it's been consistent for me since buying a maverick in june 2022. however, on this other comment I made in this thread I do have an update.

I have a wireless android auto dongle. I've found that when using Google Maps, it will tolerate the wireless dongle when I'm actually wired in. (of course you do have to be wired during a long trip, because your phone will drain using gps.) Waze will not tolerate the phone being wired and a wireless AA dongle also connected, and that's why it was crashing all the time.

It's weird, but if I use Waze only through the wireless dongle it is reliable. Or if I unplug the wireless dongle and plug in my phone, that works fine too.

Waze does seem to have a bug right now that the navigation voice is really damn loud and can't be turned up or down when you use the truck's volume knob while it is talking. I didn't notice this at first because I usually have my navigation set to alerts only (almost muted - it dings if you go off the route and it has to recalculate).

What do you mean by " it will tolerate the wireless dongle when I'm actually wired in. " You are using the wireless dongle AND the wired connection at the same time?

Nothing to report. I opened a claim with the BBB Auto Line, pending Ford's response and arbitration.

Unless anyone has an SSM to share pertaining to this issue, we are still without official recognition of this issue from Ford.

technically AA is only paired with one at a time, but I've never had to unplug the wireless dongle before.

But Waze crashes a lot if the wireless dongle and phone are both plugged in. I think others have had issues like this with a wireless dongle, it's just pretty inconvenient to have to plug and unplug it frequently.

So if you are connected to the wireless dongle AND plugged in at the same time you do not have the skipping issue??

If I were a betting man, I'd bet this is filed as "will not fix" internally at Ford. My guess is the hardware is so poor that it's not going to see an improvement.

oh, lol. no it will skip regardless.

I originally tried Waze to see if it would help and it doesn't. nothing stops the skipping.

We’re probably not gonna get a software fix for this ever, huh? 🫤 Any way to rollback software versions or has this always been a thing with previous year models? It’s not the worst, sometimes I don’t even notice it, but still annoying when it does pop up
