I just got my 2023 Maverick Lariat about a week and a half ago. I had no issues up until about 5-6 days after driving it. Specifically, the following:

Four of five times when I turn the truck on and try to use the Infotainment system, specifically Carplay with my iPhone plugged in via USB, no audio will come through the speakers or in general, even though Spotify shows the song playing on my phone. Even more annoyingly, if and when this happens, if I hit the power button on the system, then I cant turn it on. Meaning that the screen just shows "Audio Off" and doesnt turn back on when I hit the power button. The only way to get it back on is to attempt to turn the truck on and off again, and even then this may not work. The alternative is doing a master reset in the system menu, or doing the reset where I hold the power button and the track forward button.

Another issue is when I will turn on the truck, the infotainment screen just sits there and cycles on and off showing the Ford logo multiple times, over and over again unless I do another reset or cycle the truck power on and off.

It's super frustrating to essentially have the reset the system everytime I want to listen to music.

Has anyone experienced something similar? I will try to upload some pictures later If i experience the issue again today.

That is not normal.

Try a reset and see if there are any updates for your Maverick over WiFi. Also, try ensuring your phone is not locked when you plug it in. If I unlock my phone after plugging it in, the system sometimes acts as you describe.

Something is wrong with Sync3audio quality. Wired should be better than BlueTooth. I end up doing several resets to get the audio in the game, and best it just to disconnect the cable.

There is a lot to do when you sit in a Maverick Lariat. Put foot on brake, seat belt without scratching interior, Start button, seat belt, four presses to get drive mode back to eco, plug in, unlock phone, get sync working (CarPlay) navigate and that is all before you get the AC running and put it in D. If lights and wipers are needed, those are additional steps.

For a Tesla owner, a Ford is like launching the space shuttle to get the thing out of the garage. Have to ask, why have a start switch? The truck powers up (hear the relays) when you touch the door handle…. Why four button pushes to get to eco, if that is where you left it?

In a Tesla, when you sit down and put your foot on the brake, it knows you probably want to go. It knows if it is raining or needs headlights. It knows if you like 72* and medium fan speed. It knows that you left it in standard drive mode, regen on, joe mode, etc… there are a bunch of parts, wires, switches that Ford could save $$ on by removing while also improving the user experience.

Hey there. Can you please send over a message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer? I would like to look into your Maverick's audio issues on my end.

Many of us have this issue, and the dealers tell us, it's normal.

I have been having these issues as well with my 2022 XLT. I have to spent a bunch of time plugging my phone in and out. I have tried multiple cords both usb and usb-c from Apple and still have the issue. The issues doesn’t happen every time but enough that it is annoying.

I had the same experience for part of the day yesterday. Never before this and I've had my Mav for over 18 months and 18K miles. It reset itself later in the day.

My experience also contained this high pitch noise like a dog whistle only I was hearing it, and I thought that I might go mad if it never stopped.

The Ford Motor Company account suggested I just schedule an appt at the local dealership. So now I have an appt about a month out. I'm not super confident they will be able to resolve it.

Also check your USB cable you use with your phone. Before my audio quit one day, my iPhone bitched at me about the usb port having moisture, but my phone had not been near water.

Later when the audio wehtn out and popped, I recycled the engine twice and got the same result. Re-seeded the battery cable and recycled the engine twice and no problems since.

I had to reset it on day 2... been flawless for a couple weeks now. The only issues I experience are on the "phone" side, not the "truck" side.

Out of curiosity, when you're not getting audio from your iPhone, if you switch over to radio, do you get any audio?

Based on what you're describing - particularly when you turn it off, it gets stuck at Audio Off - it almost sounds like a hardware issue with the ACM (audio control module) or APIM (Sync 3 module). Unfortunately if that's the case, you'll need to wait for that dealer appointment/try to find another dealer to look at it sooner, as you may need hardware replaced under warranty. I've seen a similar issue with a rental Fusion.

That said, you could also go into Sync 3's Settings tab at the bottom (without your phone plugged in) and look for the software update tab. It'll need to be connected to Wi-Fi (home or hotspot) in order to check. Doubt that it's something an update would fix but you could always try.

- If I try to switch over to radio, then nothing still comes out. Usually thats when I get stuck with the "Audio Off" situation.

I have done the reset multiple times and have also checked for updates and so far, it says it is up to date with the latest software/firmware/etc.

I am hoping I can take some videos of the issue between now and my appt, so they can at least understand what I am looking at instead of trying to replicate without success
