Where I live good radio reception is sketchy. I purchased that short antenna and found poor performance with it. It did improve the look but not the reception .

Sorry to hear that. I live more in the city and only listen to a couple of channels and they come in great. Mostly got so my truck cover goes on no problem now

Been using the stubby for 2 years and don't see any advantage to that factory antenna.
I used to panic every time going through the wash, NO more.

Been sporting a stubby for 2 or 3 months, can report that reception is no more shitty than with the factory antena .

No biggie though as I don't listen to broadcast AM/FM.
