When I park it I let my turbo bathe under idle oil pressure for 30-60 seconds.
I turn stop start off when I get in and belt up.

As another said, proper brake control and it will not engage.

I wont follow through but I’d like to forscan out that stop/start bullshit along with every beep,
Bell and ding I could get to.

Back in the day we disconnected seat belt, door and ignition chimes, buzzers etc.
You could park a little closer to your girlfriend’s house and sneak in and out with a far lower chance of waking mom or dad up.

At least the functionality of Fords actually works ok- We rented a Subaru Ascent and twice got delayed when it refused to auto/re-start when the light turned green - Yowsa
The Stop/Start in my wife's Outback annoys me because the boxer engine shutting down and starting up is more "violent" compared to Ford.

I never needed to do that when I was daying my future wife, but then again her parents lived 500 miles away, so I guess not much of a challenge.

One night I came home at 3 AM. Yeah seventeen and still living with mom. Shameful I know.
I was drunk as a skunk. Opened the car door,
Fell out, legs still in the car. Passed the F out.

Mom got up to pee and heard the Camaro’s door chime.
Rain storm moved in on us while she was trying her best to get me awake and on my feet. We Both got soaked.
I got my ass chewed the next day.

If I would have simply cut my door chime the rain would have woke me up. I could have snuck in the garage.

A lot harder to balance out those horizontal pistons. I can imagine it would be super annoying.

I had a 2017 Escape for 10 years & 125,000 miles, never had an issue with using start/stop. This includes heavy city driving in the NC summer with the AC on.

My starter never failed, and I only had to replace the battery after 6 years which is pretty typical.

I think fears of part failures is way over blown.
The starters were hardened to handle start/stop. But not the turbo. Yours most likely had carbon buildup & maybe leakage. According to google - many folks had turbo problems with their 2017 Escapes. Problems that a start/stop could contribute to.

“Yes, the 2017 Ford Escape equipped with 1.5L and 2.0L EcoBoost turbo engines experienced turbocharger-related complications. Common issues include oil leaking into the wastegate actuator and intake, wastegate sticking from carbon or oil buildup, and low boost pressure or overboost codes.”

This video popped up by chance in my youtube where a guy was showing the under side of 2022 awd ecoboost and points out the coolant pump for auto stop start.

Don't make the assumption that your Maverick has that pump. The Maverick in the video is a 2022 4K tow Ecoboost, and I can tell you that my 2024 FX4 4K tow Ecoboost Maverick doesn't have that electric pump that he points out in the video. If it does, it's hidden somewhere I can't see it and not anywhere near that location.

Never threw any codes, never experienced a loss of power, and fuel economy remained consistent throughout ownership.

You can always find people who has had issues with a car, and you can always find people who had trouble-free ownership. It doesn't mean there is an issue.

Auto manufacturers have sold millions of cars with start/stop. If the technology is as disastrous as it is made out to be, we'd be seeing consistent failures across the industry.

And quoting AI seems like kind of a weak move.

We all know that start/stop will leave carbon deposits on intake valve & turbos - degrading performance and mpg’s slowly & unnoticeable.

But what about our 8F35 transmissions? Yes - start/stop is even more brutal on them! Per my mechanic google:

“An automatic start-stop system affects an automatic transmission by temporarily cutting off the engine-driven hydraulic pump, causing fluid pressure to drop and clutch packs to disengage. When you release the brake, the engine restarts and pressure rebuilds, which engineers manage using upgraded electric auxiliary pumps and reinforced components to prevent noticeable wear. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]”

There are rumors that Ford will eliminate the start/stop on EB’s soon - doing a favor for future owners!

Do you have any evdience for A.S.S. wearing out transmissions that isnt AI slop?

Per the response you posted, electric auxiliary pumps keep pressure up when stopped. People have been melting down over A.S.S. for over a decade at this point, but nobody can point to engines or transmissions damaged by any of this.

Not all AI info is slop. Much of it is factual & science based. We can use our brains to distinguish between the two. Of course, human brains can create slop too;)

I can get Google's AI response to say the ecoboost maverick uses 0w-20 oil.

Where's the actual evidence of transmissions being damaged by A.S.S.?

The evidence is thrown away by the Techs/Mechs who replace the parts or transmissions. The 8F35 is not a highly reliable transmission.

One could argue, logically & rationally, the added complexity to handle the A.S.S. and the stresses put on an automatic transmission from A.S.S. contribute to the problems of the 8F35.

AI is great for getting a quick answer, but it sucks at getting a consistent, reliable answer.
You can ask a question 2 slightly different ways and get opposite responses to the same question.

It's basic problem is it is artificial but it isn't intelligent.

Machines don't actually create content, so they don't create slop, they merely assemble responses based on the more prevalent data they have to look at.

Post an incorrect fact about a Maverick to this site and you are likely to see a bot quote it, even though it is misinformation.
