Hey guys! Just wanted to see if any of you had the same issue...
Had my maverick for 3 weeks now (2 weeks actually cause it spent a week at the dealer for a still unresolved issue)
Hauled a traffic light last night (made out of plastic and fiber glass) and when i pulled it out, the liner got damaged at 3 spots, checked under the light and there were no hard edges and i can see the beds paint now.... kinda dissapointed, my 2500 chev with linex took way more abuse and i still cant see the paint in the bed.

Buy a can of herculiner at walmart, spray some on the scratched part, open a beer with your maverick's built in bottle opener and enjoy the warm summer evening.

Point is, it's a truck and the bed exists to get beat up. The bedliner can help mitigate the damage but damage will occur. Look at it this way: without it you would have scratched your paint down to the metal. My old truck's bed had dents, scratches and rust spots all over it.

And I totally get where you are coming from - the bed liner in mine is pristine and looks just awesome - they did a fantastic job and I couldn't be happier. The bed is loaded up right now with stuff to take my son back to school and I have to admit there were some pucker inducing moments loading up the truck for fear of scratching the liner. But it's purpose is to absorb abuse so yours worked as intended.

Thus the comment about herculiner and beer stands. :)

Get a Bullet liner. They do touch ups for free. Not that you could ever scratch that study off. No hep for you 90. But maybe the next guy.

Ouch, I can tell you no way the Rhino liner in my F150 would have don't that. Years of moving friends, ATVs, rocks and bricks and it still looked brand new! Should not be that fragile

Yes i understand that its meant to be beat but damaging it to the point of seeing paint with a plastic piece is not normal... thats why i said that my 2009 chev pickup that has 200,000 km with line-X took a hell of a beating and i still can't see paint... yet again today i prove my point... took a 5 gallon oil pail in and out of the truck (its made out of plastic) and a big chunk came off.... its not normal

Here is what I bought with my Fordpass points. They are from Ford parts, easy to install, and protect the bed and tailgate when you drag crap in and out of the truck bed. They are the typical hard vinyl like the bed rail protectors. They fit around all the tie-downs.

Lack of adhesion, surface prep problem? Mine is very soft as well and is malleable as well, mine got scratched as well with wood pallet. That tailgate needs help, i was able to 'rub out' some of the gouges with fingers.
As time goes by the solvents are baked out and it solidifies more over time.

I always loved plastic liners because they are rugged and easilly serviceable but what i've learned from being a truck tech for 10 years is that unless you get your truck bed completely rust proofed inside or lined, these things rub, damage the paint then trap moisture under and rot truck beds....

I asked my LineX dealer about his warranty. Real honest guy, and his response was his warranty was from LineX (material only) any labor to fix damaged areas was still a labor charge....Agreed with above yours looks like lack of proper prep of surface. They have to scuff up all the OEM paint surface. I could not see them work but they removed all brackets, plastic doors, and other hardware and had everthing done in 1 hr and 20 minutes. My guy also suggested 2 or 3 weeks for SIBL to fully adhere/dry,..before sharp objects.

A month after applied, I tried to mount 6 attachment brackets through the LineX and it was still spongy. Another month it was hard and has handled a lot of abuse, still looking like new.

Edge, sounds like linex said same thing as i posted..been down this road before. Alot of times dealer cant get surface prepped correctly and they get bulk lifting.

Is this a factory spray, dealer done or independant liner co.? If its factory it has had plenty of cure time. No matter what, I think thats a lousy prep job. I'd have it back to who ever did it and have it redone.

I have an update from my dealer and they are having issues with the guys doing the liner... they are going to fix it under warranty but i have to negotiate cause they want to do touch ups and i want the whole bed redone as its been 3 weeks and its soft everywhere and it peels off like a banana
