Yeah- see above and do not do this.
I'm not going to say this works all the time but I will say that when a neighbor moved in to a duplex I shared with them who had four cats the landlord dropped the rat extermination because no rats ever went into the garbage. 🤷

Squirrels got the fuel lines on our Honda. Supposedly, it is because they used some nut oil to put it together. The repair was over 1k since they had to take out the gas tank. The real insult is that my wife insisted that she get her space back in the garage where I had expanded the wood shop.

Anyone who's every pulled out a barn find car will know rodents chewed wiring long before there was soy involved.
Packrats ate the wiring insulation in my 1950 Ford Fordor years ago.

IIRC, what little insulation remained looked more like some kind of woven cloth than like plastic.

Very true all makes use vegetable based plastics for the enviros. Some of the smarter ones add a bittering agent to make it not desirable to eat. But when rats get hungry they will chew through anything steel or even concrete.
Believe it or not some wood shavings soaked in coyote pee or badger pee hung in the engine bay works in heavy rat infested areas or up to just fabric softener sheets. Especially in the winter time they love warmth of the engine. So even if they dont eat your wires they will pee and poop all over your engine in the winter months.
Parking nose out vs nose in makes somewhat of a difference as they will be exposed entering and exiting the engine bay via the rims.
when the car or truck faces the garage or wall they are less exposed during their entry and escape.
My neighbor just leaves the hood open overnight so they dont make a home in there.
Just buy cats and don't feed them. They will handle the rest

Grab two handfuls of diablo sauce from taco bell and cover all exposed wiring. I imagine the rats up North aren't used to eating such spicy noodles.
Diablo is spicy?????????

Not to this extent. I believe there a couple of class action lawsuits infant Toyota for this.

Just go back to petroleum based wiring 90% of problem solved

At my place of employment we have a newer diesel Ford truck that gets parked outside. One day go to start it up and nothing happens. Pop the hood and a rodent got up under there and chewed up anything it could get its teeth on. Laugh all you want about soy wires, but the repair bill was about $10k so it's no laughing matter.
Well don't park it outside

Unfortunately the coyotes and bobcats will eat any outdoor cat(s) in my neighborhood. And anyone that moves in with their outdoor cat in a month they go missing too.

How does one acquire "badger pee"?

Also, will it repel feminine looking men in skinny jeans with a taste for my delicious soy covered wires?
That is hilarious

When I had rat issues I researched and found popery dipped in predictor urine will drive away rodents. Also super clean sent too like fabric softener sheets.

Good for you!

I've had a hell of a time finding popery during the pandemic.

And my psychic is completely out of predictor urine. ;)
