I looked at buying a "Y" since the price drop...but with a 2022 bronco 2 door, and a hybrid mav along with an EB mav...I just couldn't come up with enough saving to justify the Y. The hybrid has averaged 40.8 mpg since I have owned it, almost 23k miles. Although the Y is more efficient, with KW being roughly .25 at charging stations...it was pretty much a wash. Living in SE Michigan, the range drop in the winter is roughly 25 percent. I also have an F150 lightning reserved...within the first few hours...but like everyone knows...ford has been pulling my pud on placing an actual order. Wanted to go with the pro at 40k, now it is 56k and not even available. They want you to take the lariat plunge at 75k. Can't do it for 200 miles.

We’ll find out. If my wife hates it we’ll sell it… No worries!
My brother-in-law has a Model S that he bought shortly after Tesla first started selling them. He's got well over 150K on his and still absolutely loves it. Whenever they go anywhere, it's in the Tesla, even though his wife has a pretty nice BMW X-5 that is far newer. To the best of my knowledge, other than tires and washer fluid, he's never had to do anything to it. Tons of over-the-air updates since he first got it, but zero issues. He is a huge Tesla car advocate. Elon Musk - not so much...

Well, all things put aside, the Model 3 Tesla is a joy to drive and as long as I don't have to deal with service or anything else Tesla, good. But going to the mountains and eastern part of our state (Oregon) a Maverick is what I want. Tesla...made for pavement. The Tesla Truck...the one that has been on hold for years...is the most ugly thing on the planet( minor issue?) and who knows what the cost would be and miles per charge? No Maverick is and will be our second vehicle. She Who Must Be Obeyed drives it most of the time now.
Maverick...wish I had my eyes open last year and had ordered one...

O, yeah...Plywood in a Tesla? No..anything practical if you work around the house, build furniture, or gardening, etc., etc., not a Tesla...Maverick!

Man that Bronco is sharp. I think eruption green is possibly my favorite color of any new vehicle and I was really hoping they'd bring it over for the Mavericks for MY23. Oh well.

An email I received today from Ford. My wife’s Tesla is being delivered on 2/7/2023. The contrast is amazing.

Ok, I've decided to buy a dealership and now I can drive a different car or truck everyday! Seriously though, we've been living in an era where owning multiple vehicles makes a lot of sense. Having a big vehicle to tow, haul, carry people, and for long trips is hard to replace. Also having a very efficient hybrid or EV for commuting to work and local driving is perfect for that job. I've been driving a Chevy Volt. Best car I've ever owned, 180 lifetime mpg is going to be hard to give up but it's time to upgrade to something newer. Maverick hybrid is going to feel like a gas guzzler in comparison. Saving money at the pump is nice, but being able to go a couple of months between fill ups was liberating. Cold, rainy, feeling lazy, in a hurry? No problem just stop next week and top if off. The point is EVs, hybrids and ICE vehicles all serve different purposes. So if someone is able to afford the right tool for the job, why not?
Right. The Maverick will be no good for cheating death. I have a motorcycle for that.

Lol, and satisfy the "need for speed" for the 20 year old side of me. I think the Maverick gets better gas mileage than my bike which is crazy. Keep two wheels down my friend! (y)
