Rocks happen while driving and are unavoidable.

Porsche and Audi both, from the factory, suggest 90 days minimum for paint to cure. They both highly recommend not to “clay bar” , 3-M wrap, or “ceramic coat” their paint until 4 or 5 months after purchase. Especially since almost all cars are now clear-coated.There is a difference between "dry" and "cured"
Hmmm, is this potential issue causing anyone to rethink their choice of Area 51 and Cactus Grey? I chose Cactus Grey. I thought about carbonized grey.It appears the Maverick may be plagued by an issue very common with the Bronco Sport. Three pit marks in the front end of my vehicle already after just 400 miles.

That damage wiped off the film, the paint is still coveredThat's incredible! I would've thought the damage underneath would have been worse!
Very true, especially true if hitting gravel when the front tires turned outside the fender well. Aggressive larger off road type tires almost always have an outside tread that catches gravel that is going to be thrown outward from the fender well. That’s why most Jeep owners add fender flairs, too knock down gravel…some do it just for looks, but fender flares have a function. Larger tires without finder extensions are asking for pin prick holes from gravel. I dropped ”mud guards” from my order since it delayed the build date, but will quickly buy and mount them, even with stock tires. They absolutely can and are. Drive through some water and watch how droplets make their way onto your bumper, hood, fenders. Wherever water droplets end up, rocks can be thrown in the same projectory. That’s the nature of running wider, all terrain tires that protrude past the fenders.

Color, plus white primer coat underneath. Probably only one color coat. The attached picture above sure looks like a chip down to bare metal. Easy fix with tube of glaze and a tiny painters brush...
I wonder what it is about those two colors to be having such problems? Lousy formula? I know nothing about automotive paint.

YUpIs that covered under warranty?

Insurance issue…..Is that covered under warranty?
Haven't seen this issue in the Ranger forum (also available in cactus gray) so if there's an issue, I'd be concerned about any color from that plant. I'm still going with cactus gray. This news is also all over Bronco Sport forums for this color though, it’s been buyer beware for Cactus and A51 lovers.
