It appears the Maverick may be plagued by an issue very common with the Bronco Sport. Three pit marks / rock chips in the front end of my vehicle already after just 400 miles.

It take much longer than you think for paint to fully cure. Or maybe it’s an issue with surface prep.

Is this a curing issue or a paint adherence issue?

NOOOOOOOO, why can't Ford figure out how to paint vehicles? I'd really suggest folks keep an eye on this as these kind of issues should be covered under the 3/36 base warranty but will absolutely not be covered by anything else, including the premium Ford ESP. They will tell you to go pound sand otherwise, well known issue with Ford vehicles in the past.
My 47k mile, never been wrecked 2017 Escape may give us all a glimpse of our future:

Maybe I’ll have to get the front end wrapped in ppf after all…

Man I hate to see that happening.

Sorry Dude, I know how that makes stomach turn over when it happens on a brand new vehicle. 🙁

That’s terrible. Looks like someone shot it with a tiny BB gun.

Pretty sure they're selling paint protection packages to rip off the buyer with an overpriced and largely worthless product.

Guessing it is something else because paint generally cures in 24 hours. I would bet it has something to do with the surface prep.

I plan to avoid car washes and planning a simple soap/water bucket wash for 1-2 months, and then a wax job to protect the paint.
