It was cold at 10 degrees ambient temp. I autostarted using Ford Pass.

When I go into the cab, I smell coolant fumes.

Looked under the hood and noticed my coolant level at minimum. Dont see any leaks.

Any help would be great.

Ecoboost or Hybrid. Just delivered? I remember someone on this forum saying it was normal to smell weird stuff as the engine breaks in.

Hybrid or Ecoboost? Quite a few Hybrid owners mentioning problems with remote start via FordPass. When I pick up mine next week, I think i'm gonna hold off using the remote start feature.......

Do you smell it under the hood or just in the cabin after warm up? If it's just cabin, very likely you have a heater core issue. My recommendation is to get it checked as quickly as possible, unfixed coolant leak end up crystalizing into crevice and you won't be able to get rid of that smell forever. Make sure you set expectation with the dealer this smell needs to be gone or you will go lemon.

I had a volvo with this issue, and since I acted late, replacing heater core didn't make the smell go away. After living with it for a couple years I sold the car.

Another person with a similar problem said the smell was kinda like "rotten eggs". Same for you?

Coolant smells like rotten fruit - a sickly unnatural sweet smell somewhere between ammonia and strawberry.

In the unlikely event someone here is unaware, coolant is typically pleasantly-colored and surprisingly sweet in taste. it is also highly toxic. Please keep away from the young ones.

Retired Ford dealer Service Advisor here, few things: if actually coolant loss, you can confirm by monitoring the coolant level for a few days or weeks, make sure to check coolant level the same way, best is after vehicle sits over night and before starting. Next, if heater core, you will most likely notice moisture on the inside of the windshield when defrost is turned on, usually in the first few minutes but if a bad leak it will continue and smell worse the longer driven. Most likely just due to being new, some engine items may have a coating and exhaust will definitely have an odor. I would not be worried if coolant level doesn't lessen in a week or more, again make sure to check it each day before starting! If able, put a piece of tape on the coolant reservoir to mark coolant level to validate coolant loss.

I would drop by dealer to get fluid topped off and make him aware that you are having issues maybe buy a gallon of premix fluid if he won't give you some if you think you want to buy I would just stop by and have dealer add as needed just so he knows for sure how much🤗

Are you certain that they are coolant fumes?

Have you been monitoring the coolant level? It's reasonable to see it at minimum with temps getting colder.
Yes, it is coolant smell. Havent monitored for long, just happened today.

My concern is the smell. Not fun to have to open the window to remove the smell when its 0 degree with wind chill.

Thanks
