The biggest thing holding me back from putting a deposit down on a preorder right now is color indecision. I've decided that the Lariat trim is what I'd want but man, I'm struggling to imagine which exterior color is going to look best with this...ahem....unique interior color on the Lariat. I'd originally been leaning towards Velocity Blue but decided that would clash with the interior once I saw it. Currently, my frontrunners are Area 51, Alto Blue or Cactus Grey but I'm beyond undecided.

Question: Are there any other models out there with similar interior colors to this Lariat trim that I could swing by a local dealership to take a peak at? Anyone else struggling to match up exterior color with the Lariat interior? What are you leaning towards?

I went with Alto Blue for a couple of reasons: I think there will be fewer of that color on the road and because it seems (?) like it might balance out the Lariat interior.

I’ve struggled with exterior color choice as well. I am a huge fan of blue-green combinations, so the Area 51 immediately caught my eye. I’ve seen a few Bronco Sports in Area 51 and REALLY like the color. But I know this will be an incredibly popular color and the “automatic” choice for many people if nothing else than based on Ford’s focus getting that color visible early on.

I originally had Cactus Grey as my second choice, but I think Alto Blue now has that slot. NA makes a good point about less on the road; there will be TONS of Area 51s.

Ford's Ruby Red which is very close to Rapid Red. But, I see to get this color combo on the Maverick Lariat you must order the Luxury, and First Edition packages along with the Ford 360 package. Yeah, it's a profit deal for Ford. I picked the Area 51 with the Roast interior (which appears to be the same as the Desert Brown in the Maverick) for my Bronco. IMHO that will be a good looking combination.

BTW, the paint isn't screwed up as it appears. That's reflections of the crap in the parking lot. :)

I think the cactus gray looks surprisingly good on the Bronco Sport with navy pier trim and with the roast trim, which is kind of what Ford mashed up on the Lariat with the navy/brown trim, but they have some pics of Alto blue and Area 51 as well on the forum. It’s hard to tell from photos.

I saw a navy pier/rapid red Bronco and that was way better than I thought it would be, so maybe this navy color acts more as a neutral than we think. I didn’t think about the color clashing at all as I was climbing around/in it. I say just get whatever color makes you happiest when you approach the vehicle. 🙂

We got carbonized gray with the Lariat, so it’ll work. Wish it was more of a steel blue gray instead of the true metallic gray it is, but that works.

I hate basic colors, but unfortunately Oxford White, Carbonized Gray and Iconic Silver seem to be the best fit for my Loaded Lariat build. I hate to do the basic white (would would have preferred Star White or Space White), but I do like the pure white with all the black accents. It may scream fleet work truck, but I am used to my white sedan for the past 14 years. Similar white on my 2007 Honda Civic Si sedan. I figured the pop of Blue on the Ford emblem and pop of Red on the FX4 badge on the box would look sharp with the contrasting black wheels and other black trim work. The Honda looks great when cleaned up, which it still and continue to remain retired from winter duty.

My wild card color is Area 51.

Imo, Alto Blue and the red/orange color look best, followed by white, with the Lariat interior.

I wish it was black.

Color coordinating the interior w/ exterior is no easy task, as we have blue and orange on the XLT and blue and brown on the Lariat. For the XLT, I think the orange could pair nicely with the accents or the blue with the blue plastics. For the Lariat, its a shame we don't have any tan/browns that would be great, so any blue would work.

I like the red though because it makes the rather large rear taillights blend into the body rather than stick out, but I'm not so sure how that pairs with either interior and from pictures I can't tell if it has a hint of orange to where it would match the taillights anyway.
I am a huge fan of blue-green combinations
Funny, as in German fashion at least, there's even an old rhyme that its the only two colors you should never combine: "GrĂĽn und Blau schmĂĽckt die Sau!" Translated its "Green and Blue decorates the swine".

I bought the cheaper XLT version of the Maverick in silver and installed covers with same colors as Lariat version

IMO, either of the Blues , Gray, Red or white. Hard to pick without seeing it in person which is difficult since hardly see any on lots. Can say I extremely pleased with the Alto Blue

Fighter Jet Grey / Cactus Grey here. Orange and red clash heavily with the Lariat interior. If you want one of those colors, one solution is optioning Tremor or Black Appearance Package, bearing in mind that you're still going to have navy plastic on the dash and most of the door panel.

Specific to the first post, I have seen a '22 lariat Velocity Blue and it was fine. I haven't seen a '23 Atlas Blue yet but think it would probably also be fine.

I chose Alto Blue over Atlas Blue when my MY23 order got put in to replace my MY22 order (which was Velocity Blue) for the exact reason that I thought the interior would clash with the Atlas. Not a super fan of the Lariat interior color combo, but not enough opposed to it to order the more plain-Jane XLT interior.
