Should I be concerned with this roof drip rail molding seal?

I'm nearing 36K miles on my maverick and the left side drip rail towards the back of the cab, is starting to lift very slightly on one side of the seal. Not sure if it is worth fussing with taking to dealership? If it would be something covered by warranty I'd be willing to take it. I haven't seen any water leak inside the truck at all since this occurred.

Sadly for that to get reclipped on, the center section probably has to come off.
And that I've seen a few posts about that starting to lift, and then the wind taking it off.

They should fix it - but I'd be concerned their messing with the area will cause you a problem 6 months later past warranty.

Leave it as it is, trying to fix it will get you into bigger issues

Thinking of maybe putting a very small amount of black epoxy into the crevice where this would normally be seated, and then press the seal into the epoxy and allow for it to cure together? Seem like an okay idea?

Yes that was a known problem if you want it fixed they have to pull the headliner - I had 1 done early and the other one went a year later that I left alone. I don’t think it leaks 🤷‍♂️ but it’s still upto your decision

mine was like that for a coupe years. i noticed sometime after having the airbag recall performed that it had been fixed. never had a leak. i wouldn't worry about it personally.

It's cosmetic, it has no effect on leaks. I would use silicon over epoxy.

I've done similar repairs to other vehicles and recommend auto/marine silicone. It flexes with temperature changes. I'm not sure epoxy will do the same.

A repair I did 10 years ago is still holding strong.
Definitely would not go to the dealer. They may tear into stuff and cause more damage. It's a 5 minute fix with silicone.

I have used black roof tar from a tube. Not very noticeable and keeps water out.

Pretty sure that's not a sealing spot, as water from the upper trim area that easily gets under that trim also runs under the trim around the curve.

I'm curious about repair from inside above headliner for that.
Is that maybe a grommet hole for the bigger trim piece, so in taking it out to fix the little guy - now you need above the headliner?

Someone posted their bigger piece ripped up before it was ripped off - never a leak mentioned. Perhaps a rubber grommet was there unseen. Hate for pushy fingers to find that!

If you don't have any perceived leaks and it's purely cosmetic, I would mask the paint and apply black RTV and secure it until cured.
