Sensitive parking brake?

But getting back to the topic at hand which for some reason seems to always get derailed into something else when this topic was not about seats at all and somebody comes on and says oh you talk about seats all the time which is not what this topic is about at all, why is it that for at least me my parking brake is extremely sensitive and fires off on its own and while we’re at it why does my pre-crash collision alert thing go off when there’s nobody around me? The other day I was driving on the beltway and I was in the far left lane there was nobody on the road around me now there was somebody like a long way back not within distance in my car started going off. It was very odd I’m wondering if that and the parking brake coincide with each other

Great link. It states the braking will assist if Maverick senses a collision. That is what the OP is feeling?

Why is it so sensitive? If I’m on a very slight incline or decline it wants to automatically go on. If I pull into a parking spot to do a three-point turn it wants to turn itself on. If I turn into a side street or neighborhood or anything that’s not even on an incline it wants to flip itself on. It’s incredibly annoying. Probably one of the worst features of this vehicle. Probably goes right along with the over sensitivity of the pre-crash assist thing always telling me that it’s not working every morning. What the hell is going on

Having it be electronic instead of a manual pull lever like was standard in vehicles forever was and is a terrible idea. They should go back to the pull lever. Even when it works right, it is a pain in the arse to use

It is working as it should - if the OP has the “Pre-Collision Assist” set to High & the “Brake Assist” turn On.

I originally set up my Maverick like that - but changed it to Low & Off as I found the truck applying the brakes as I approach stop lights disconcerting.

The pre-collision assist & brake assist are neat features that I’ll use once my vision & reflexes degrade more than they have already!

Would my Maverick have stopped me from stupidly backing into a parked car if I had my Pre-Collision Alert set at “high” with Brake Assist “on”? Does anyone know if brake assist works while in reverse?

Maybe I need to set my brake assist back on. Could have saved me from a $1,300 bumper replacement.

Kind of. I don’t drive slow. I have a lead foot but many times I’ll be on the highway with no one around me and it freaks out. Or when I’m leaving to go to work in the morning
