I’m
Going to be 71 in April and I'm going to buy a new 2025 Maverick XLT Hybrid AWD with a few options in about the middle of Feb .... I figure I'll save myself around 3K to 4K by getting a new 25 over ordering a new 26 ..... I'm a truck man myself but for some reason I can't fathom I have bought SUV's for my last 3 vehicles ..... Have owned about 5 trucks over the years and have finally come to my senses and I'm going back to a truck ..... The last time I owned a truck was my new 2004 Dodge Dakota ..... Can't wait.

Where I live the dealers already have 26s on the lot and prices are about the same.

The MAV is like a SUV. I believe it is built on the Ford Escape frame.

Saw this thread and had to chime in. Will turn 76 in a couple of weeks and have had my 2025 2.0L FWD XLT for about 3 weeks now, moved up from a 2001 Ranger club cab as my Daily. But still have the 2011 GT500 that we do land speed racing and open road racing.

Soon to be 81. 1000 miles on 2025 ith lariat package. Really like safety features and features. Put 552,000 on my Ridgeline may go for like miles on this one
I wanted the Ridgeline, but, checked measurements and it was too long for my garage.
Ticked me off. The Honda is much better built, rides great, has a strong, NA 3.5 V6 that I've
had in many Hondas and Acuras.

Yes, I own a new '26 Lobo....but, I've got a big money bet, if necessary, it will NOT last like your
old Ridgeline. I'll be 77 in 3 wks. Always a "crazy car guy" with now my 48th new vehicle bought,
and 77 vehicles since 16. Had 12 Mustang V-8's....2 Cobra Mustangs and a Saleen. BMW M2 in
'24, Corvettes, turbo Supra, etc. Of course I won't be around to see IF your Maverick goes over
500K miles! LOL! But, I've got a strong intuition on this. Just hope for 200K trouble free miles.

Enjoy!!

Yes sir!
The Ford Maverick is built on the Ford C2 platform.

Because this is a flexible, unibody architecture rather than a traditional body-on-frame truck chassis, it shares its DNA with several other vehicles in the Ford and Lincoln family.

Randy,
Compare the 2025 prices to ordering a 2026 where the dealer has no money invested in the truck. It is very possible you may get a better price on ordering a 2026 versus buying a 25 off the lot where the dealer has already paid interest on floor space. That's money that the dealer is wants to get back.

WOW you really are a crazy car guy. You have had 77 vehicles since you were 16, but 48 of them have been new purchases. 29 of those 77 have been of the used variety. Buying used is always a roll of the dice. Did you do the inspections yourself or did you have a mechanic on retainer ?

The pre owned ones were early in my car buying craziness. I did the inspections since I was
a Master Tech and a Tech School Instructor in the Air Force. My car craziness started...hands on,
when I tore down my '56 Chevy 265 V8 when I was 16 yrs old and put in a new camshaft, replacing the OEM one that had a rounded lobe. Had heads done, 4 bbl Rochester carb rebuilt by me, etc.
Got it back together and ran perfect until I sold it later on.

Got ya beat. I’m 73 and have owned well over 100 Ford, Mercury and Lincoln’s. About half and half used/new. Used mostly were 1 year old with less than 10,000 miles on them. Before I started buying Mavs I drove F150s. I’ve owned 10 Ford supercrews, my wife drove mostly Tauruses. Before Tauruses it was Torinos and Fairmonts. Have had just about any vehicle Ford made other than a Mustang. Never liked trying to get in and out of a Mustang. Currently we own a 24 HPR hybrid Mav and a 25 eruption green hybrid AWD Mav. They are upgrades from the 22 ecoboost AWD and 23 hybrid we owned.

In all my years of driving only got stranded 1 time. That was a 73 Torino, found out the problem was a sock type fuel filter on fuel pickup in the fuel tank. Towed it to nearby garage took high pressure air hose to fuel line, removed fuel cap and blew the sock off, then installed an inline fuel filter. Drove car for two more years.

Got to thinking about it and checked. The Grand Torino in the movie was a 72. The 73 had a flatter front grill. But not to worry wife had a 72 Grand Torino at one time. We also had the half Torinos aka Ranchero (70, 72, 73 and 74)
