Two comments one question for those far more experienced that I am (two week owner).

1. Comment: you can lock your fob for keyless entry in the car. This is a new one on me, my prior Fords (mostly Flex but some others) this was impossible. If you had a working FOB inside the car, you couldn't lock it...a good way to prevent locking yourself out of your car when the fob is inside. The other day, my fob was in a sweatshirt on the front seat, and due to the auto locking/unlocking (I have to fix that!) the car locked itself with the fob inside. Thankfully I remembered the keyless entry code, first time I've ever used that.

2. Question:. Every time I get in my Maverick, regardless of whether I attach the seatbelt before or after starting, I get a seat belt warning that won't go away unless I press the "OK" button on the right side of the steering wheel. I've poked around on settings and cannot find anything related to seatbelts. Either I have to live with this or I'm looking in the wrong place.

3. Comment: I have the factory tow package (Lariat Hybrid). Not that I plan on towing anything quite yet, or approaching any limits, but the owners manual says see door tag for towing capacities. The door tag says see owner's manual for towing capacities. Seriously? The capacities must be somewhere in or on the vehicle, yes?

The seat belt warning is a safety feature. To the best of my knowledge there is no way to disable it. Since you have a hybrid you don't have a tow package you have the hitch. The hybrid only comes standard with a 2000 pound towing capacity.

1. I routinely leave the fob in the truck when camping and use the keypad to lock it as it is better than losing my key altogether. The truck will ignore the fob already in the vehicle if it is locked. I'm not sure about the "auto lock" as I have to tell it to lock either with the fob, the door handle, or the keypad. So, that's new to me.

2. See @bbhaag post above.

3. 2,000 pounds if not 4K Tow equipped, which is not available on the hybrid.

Well that's not a safety feature, it's an annoyance. I was able to turn off the "check rear seat for children" message.. This is nuts.

Some people may not have children and so the constant reminder would be pointless as it triggers any time you open a rear door. Seatbelts are required by law pretty much everywhere.

Are you sure the hybrid is rated for 2500 pounds? Everything I see points to a 2000 pound capacity for the hybrid.

My point on the trailer tow was that the manual says go to the truck, the truck says go to the manual, and in reality the accurate data is in a third location. It's about what I expected. If I wanted a 3500-5000 pound capacity I would have bought something bigger!

My whole reason for wanting a keyless entry keypad is to lock the keys in the truck when on my boat, at the beach or anywhere else I don't want to carry my keys around.

I get it, and the reasons for keyless entry. My wife would prefer sometimes to lock her purse inside, something I'd never do if I had a purse (or a laptop bag)...I've had keyless entry for years and never used it and in fact with the dealer we programmed it at delivery; the first time ever I've programmed the keyless entry on numerous cars. I never ordered it, it was just part of a package.

However, I was not expecting the car to lock the fob inside, as this was impossible on past vehicles. Personally I would never lock a fob inside. If the fob is inside, the car can be driven away. But that's me and the way I roll. I trust me with the fob in my hand or pocket, rather than the inexpensive battery operated keyless entry.

Our 23 Lariat Hybrid is somewhere between Hermosillo and Auburn, WA. But — does the truck warn you you're locking the keyfob in? We have two keyless entry vehicles now (2013 Mazda3 and 2016 Kia Soul EV). Both complain bitterly with the onboard beeper when you try to lock a fob inside (often in my wife's purse) but then do lock. But you imply that Mav "just does it."

That's kind of silly and we'll have to be watchful....

And a seatbelt warning if you're already buckled? Our vehicles only complain if you start to drive off without buckling up.

Good question. I don’t know. I simply have not set up the auto lock auto unlock yet. I despise having auto lock; I will decide when to lock and unlock my car. Regardless, I simply walked out of the car, shut the door and it was locked. I needed to get inside and it was locked. I searched for the fob in my pocket and realized it was in my sweatshirt sitting on the drivers seat. Thankfully, I had remembered the code for the outside. No warning whatsoever that the fob was locked inside. And this was impossible in my Ford Flex. So lesson learned. Take a picture of your code or set it up for your auto keyless entry and keep it on your phone.

The truck does Not ignore the Fob already in the vehicle when locked, at least mine does not ('22 Lariat Lux Hybrid.)
You can test this by leaving the window down and the Fob in the truck and locking it, from the handle or Keypad. Reach/Climb in and you can still start the truck and drive off.

As for Auto Lock, the Maverick does Not have that. Other than after you start driving.

I have searched, because I would like that feature.
I have read of a few peoples doing that, which may be some glitch.

If you ignore, it it goes off by itself.
