The whole point of the touch door handle locking is lost without the chirp to let you know it’s locked.

I know that's why I don't like to use it.

I love the fob double lock button push. Do it when walking away cannot see lights flash if no tooting. When horn honks once all 4 doors and hood are closed and locked. Horn honks twice doors and or hood not completely shut and cannot be locked. If another car honks and I am not positive I heard my trucks answer I will double push my fob a second or even a third time.

Glad you don’t live nearby. Or maybe you do as I have a neighbor who does this at all hours.

Houses in my neighborhood are 900 ft or more apart. Some have several hundred acres. One hunts coyotes and hogs at night. One trains dogs (hunt, how to point and stay out of rattlesnake range). Lots of late afternoon barking. I am pretty quiet and will seldom be outside after sundown. Did walk around house new years and watch 30 minutes of 10-20 people up to several miles away launching aerial fireworks. One about mile away every 20- 30 seconds for maybe an hour. Nice ones probably could have bought a maverick.

Opinions on the chirp seem very polar. But I’m not asking for opinions. I just want to know if it is possible to set some feature on the truck that will cause the truck to chirp when it is locked by touching the door handle. Maybe via the Ford IDS or other diagnostic tool. If anyone has some knowledge, beyond just an opinion, please share.

All ford‘s work the same way. Just a small beep when you hit the key fob two times, confirming locked. Not too bad. But agree some cars, like Toyota and GM are horrible at loudly beeping several times! Would drive me nuts!

Don’t forget…if you have an external keypad ( my favorite ford feature) if you hit the last two buttons together it locks all the doors.

Ford discontinued the keypad on the 2024 models. Mine does not have one.

I'm not positive, however, I seem to recall reading that adding the Perimeter Plus to the standard alarm might also add an audible chirp when locking/unlocking, in addition to the motion sensor. It mentioned the audible chirp, with the description implying it might also chirp when locking or unlocking, in addition to detecting a minor vibration before alarming.

Anybody add the Perimeter Plus to their Maverick, who might be able to confirm? - That would address the OP's desire of a beep. I know I sort of miss the Chirp/Beep my Subaru made when locking or unlocking. (Double Chirp was unlock, single was lock).

Does anyone know of a way to have the horn beep when the exterior door lock is touched to lock the truck. Like when you use the fob with double tap locking. And is the alarm set when locking with touch?

Yes by using Forscan.

My Ferrari 360 Spyder, Porsche 911, and Lexus LC 500 all chirp when the door is locked and unlocked. You guys must get annoyed a lot…..

I just have my driver worry about locking and unlocking my cars. I've got other more important things to do.

Never had a problem hearing it lock when I'm standing right next to it. Also have side marker turn signals I added that flash when it locks.

Well mine must be quieter than yours and you can’t see the lights from the door handle. I want the horn to honk. Thanks for your input….

The computer is connected to a speaker for the hybrids- for the reverse sound and forward driving noise. Could easilly add some kind of sound effect for the lock system.
