3m PPF film is what I used. You can do it outside or inside it doesn’t matter. Just spray it down with lots of tack and slip solutions and squeegee the heck out of it.

My was 8 mil and I used heat gun to form all curves. Than I removed and replied with more baby shampoo kitchen silicon spatula. My wife will probably kill me.

That's where I was thinking it would be hard for me to stretch just right.
You can stretch without using a heat gun. It helps to do it on a nice sunny day as it will soften up the PPF but I did it without using a heat gun. You just need to stretch in three directions, aka, stretch outward at 45 degree angles while also pulling away from your centerline tack. For instance, on the front bumper top/flat area that goes to the grill, a lot of people would probably try to tack that down first and then continue outward but you should actually stretch and tack beyond that area then go back and squeegee it down while it's stretched out.

What film did you use. Looks really clear.
3M PPF from Vivid. It's available both on Ebay and Amazon. Just do a search for sizes. Measure your headlights and make a template before installing the film. I didn't use heat gun. Just a hair dryer should work for the edges of the lights. Didn't have to stretch or pull the film for the bumper. I did this install in 30 degrees weather and outside. Will have to re do at some point in the summer. It shouldn't be that hard and just a matter of taking off the old film and re spray with slip solution to clean and use tack solution to re attach.

Messed up on my first install but I gained valuable experience by just re installing it until I got it right. Check out the air pockets or fingers on left side

I do PPF for a living. The trick to the Mavick bumper, or any panel really, it to only stretch the film left to right across the middle, fattest part of the bumper. That will keep the top from stretching so it will fall into the place near the headlights, thats why you got those fingers.. its a lot like making a bed with a fitted sheet. You have to tack one corner and stretch to the next.

Instead of grabbing the edges and pulling the film, try pushing it into place. Tack one part with a bit of isopropal alcohol and 90% water, spray the panel with slip solution, water and a bit of baby shampoo, then lay it across the panel. Now dry your palm and the film over the fat part of the bumper near the wheel, then just push the film to the edge..

Best to do indoors to keep debris out and never in direct sunlight. Keep your hands wet when touching the adhesive to prevent fingerprints. Make sure the vehicle is as clean as possible, even the edge under the hood, hood release lever and all the crevices between panels. I had a grasshopper leg wash out under a headlight once during an install .

what do you think about using warm water instead of tack solution? Haven't tried that method but some said it worked just as good as tack solution.

Hot water (not too hot) helps the film stretch easier especially when its cold, and it is true you can just use water to tack. I use a bit of alcohol because it will help the film tack quicker and any bubbles will dry out faster.
