Rusty Rokblokz screws rusted

For the owners who have Rockblokz. Are the screws that attach the mud flaps to the vehicle rusting?

I have had the mud flaps for a year and all the screws are rusting. You would think for $150, the screws wouldn't be rusting.

and I for one expected this. not sure why the OP expected anything else. they're expecting someone to install and leave in place basically forever.

Easily replaced by some better S/S ones. But it'll take at least a decade for those cheap bare steel ones to rust away.

Mine aren’t rusting but I avoid driving my 9 month old truck in the rain. And it has never seen road salt.

My complaint is that when I ordered them, the Rokblokz website showed black attachment screws. Instead I got bright screws which stand out like sore thumbs against the black washers and black flaps.

Other than that, they are great mudflaps.

Yes, I replaced them with stainless ones from the local hardware store.

I also lost one of those stupid plastic clips that retain the bottom front portion so I had to replace that. None of the ones I had in my universal kits fit properly.

I've also had issues with RB's exchange/return policy before so this will be my last set. Twice they sent me incorrect sets for totally different vehicles and they wanted pictures of all the package contents before accepting a return/exchange which meant I had to open the packages to get pics of everything.

If the Gatorback set didn't cost so much I would have gotten it. I'm pretty sure that price has came down a bit too, because that was basically the cost of the rears I had for my previous Tacoma. They are without a doubt superior mudflaps. Flexible rubber w/ stainless hardware. But that price tag... oof. That hurts. At least it's all 4 with the Maverick I guess.

I've said it before that the RB's are the best coverage, but they are overpriced. I'm pretty sure I only paid $100 maybe $120 and if they are charging $150 now, there is no way in hell I'd buy them. People have gotten very creative adding that extra coverage on the drivers side rear on the cheaper ones, so I see no reason to overpay anymore.

Anyways, get yourself some SS hardware and be done with it. We overspent... it is what it is.

Anyone know the spec's on the size of the screws? I'd like to source true stainless steel screws that won't rust but I want to make sure I'm getting the exact thread size and number needed.

this is definitely true, and I ordered mine way back in June 22, so apparently they never switched to black hardware or updated their site.

it annoyed me to start, but no one else would ever notice or care.

You would think for the price, that the hardware provided would be stainless steel. Especially where they are considered a premium product.

You can get black corrosion-resistant-coated steel screws too. (Yes, there is such a thing)
