I have notice that the junction where my tie towns meet the bed rust has formed. A good portion of the rust is rust particles. I appears to me that then the tie downs were drilled for installation the metal shaving were not removed. If the tie downs are a factory install I doubt that is the case. I am glad I caught it before any serious damage was done. Thoughts? Observations?

I can tell you got a bed cover, the draining hose is right there, relocated the draining hose to a draining hole to avoid water

And, that would be where? Honestly, I’m not sure, pics?
There's a drain hole at the corner of the bed on each side.

Ignore the water, lol. I had the seal rolled on the rails so the drain was useless at the time of this photo.
Ok, but the water still goes onto the box floor, under the drop in, and rub, rub, rub, rust.

That rust looks like it is laying on top of the paint. It may be in the water coming thru that drain hose.

Only certain tonneau covers have drain tubes correct? I have a cheap hard tri fold tonneau cover and it doesn't have any drain tubes that I saw at all. Not sure if that's good or bad, lol.

If it sits on top of the bed rails, no tubes. If it has rails that clamp to the inside of the bed rails it should have tubes.
Ok that makes sense as mine sits on top of the bed rails thus no tubes.

That rust happened because the person that drilled the holes did not clean up the metal shavings from the drilling process. They also did not properly treat/paint the drilled holes. Most of what you see is tiny steel metal shavings that have rusted.
