Thanks for posting this, I wasn't aware of it. I have been meaning to do Route 66 and this is a good excuse to make it happen. If I go I will probably do it in the Mustang though.

They sell memorial Route 66 bricks supposedly in the hardware store there

We did a 6000 mile road trip out west a couple years back. Stopped in Winslow and had lunch at the Ford Flatbed cafe.

I live in Ohio and have been on Route 66 a couple of times and am hoping to do a good part of The Mother Road in 2 separate trips this year. I did a 3-week, 19-state, 6,300-mile road trip last fall out west in my 2025 AWD hybrid XLT that had me returning home largely along 66. (The truck performed wonderfully!) I hope to do Chicago to probably Tulsa possibly in June, then have a goal to be in Lupton, AZ, and nearby Gallup, NM, probably in November. (I did all of Route 66 in the fall of '24 in my other gobuggy, a 2007 stickshift convertible Corvette.) For anyone thinking of driving Route 66, I say, do it! A great way to see America.

@Chops Thanks for posting this. Found this old pic from back in the late 70's of my "73 Vette, somewhere (OK maybe) during 1 of the 100's of trips I've made to/from my family near Ft Worth TX.

First time I did the Route 66 Standing on a corner in Winslow Arizona. Was bringing my first smart car home from dealer in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The second time was bringing home my first F350 from Orlando, Florida.

Make a stop in Shamrock, TX.
Have coffee and a donut in a booth Elvis sat in. And see the inspiration for the Animated Movie "Cars".

Also stop in Uranus MO. They have an all natural fudge factory, and more Uranus jokes than you can count.

When you leave you can tell people "I ate some fudge from Uranus."
