Test drove a 2.0 FX4 XL, didn’t think it was particularly noisy but we also didn’t get to take it on the highway (dealer in middle of city). Definitely quieter than my 2013 CRV on surface streets at least.

Coming from my 02 Escape, anything is quieter.....but even if it isn't.....I will take practicality over comfort any day.I agree with what you said. Tested drive a Lariat 2.0 with FX4 package, the road noise is quite noticeable, wind noise is just okay, the the engine is roaring whenever I hit the pedal. I guess this is what we get for the price.
Is it legal to wear headphones while driving in Texas? I used to live in CA and it was illegal. Justification being you could not hear sirens from emergency vehicles or other environmental noises tht might avoid an accident. Not sure about this in CO or other statesYou joke, but this is actually what I did with my old Fiat 500 that I modified removing the muffler and rear seats. Even though I did add some sound insulation back and a flat rear carpeted floor which helped a ton, it was still louder than stock, and stock was already crazy loud compared to most vehicles.
So I have some bose noise canceling headphones, and would just play music through those. Its pretty amazing how good those bose headphones are at canceling out consistent background noise like drone and wind noise, and yet it seems to allow conversations and sirens and the like through.
Not noise related but I remember when Ford had a recommended tire pressure of 25 psi on the Explorer, presumably to give it a softer ride. That resulted in a rash of blowout/rollover accidents.Just check your tire pressure at delivery. It’s a real thing, set to recommend pressure, sounds stupid but stupid is as stupid does… seriously…
No, it not legal to wear headphones while driving in any state. Due to the "free for all", or "Texas is it's own country" mentality, and lack of police presence, you would likely not see anyone pulled over for it.Is it legal to wear headphones while driving in Texas? I have a Maverick XL. I put BFG Trail Terrain Tires on it. The road noise is fine in my opinion. I rented a Toyota Corolla LX last week for work. It was much louder. For a 25k AWD pick-up truck I think it is actually kind of quiet!Nice flex re the tesla. Are you seriously comparing a high end luxury electric to a cheap pickup truck?
There basically isn't much noise dampening in the mav. If you watch vids of people taking off door panels there is none. None under the hood either. That's what you get for a sub $20k vehicle. Amazon carries self adhesive sound dampening sheets if it's important. I am thinking about doing that if it feels too noisy but other people's reviews say it's fine. Will have to wait and see.
Michelin LTX AT/2 --Badass tire. Quiet yet Burly -Also like Cooper AT3'sIn my experience in the plants- Michelin has a more Involved process in building, more layers. Continental builds plants where they get tax credits and the labor force isn’t there. They have a lot of quality issues.
on my vehicle I have never had an issue with Michelin. Quiet too.
Have app, will do!Why don’t we make this more scientific and less opinion based and download a free Decible meter app. I’d do it myself, but I haven’t taken delivery of my Maverick yet.
I was getting a flat every 10 days or so with other tires, my dealer turned me onto the Falken and I have had maybe 3 flats in 30,00 miles. Performance is about the same as all the others for me.I had Continental and Cooper ONCE, I doubt there will be a second for either one. Continental where many years ago and Coopers weren't as long ago. Had lots of Michelins and loved the Falken on one of my F150's, best handling and ride.

XL with 2.0 EB here and the road noise is not bad. Yes, I notice road noise more on rougher asphalt, but on smooth city streets, the road noise is not noticeable.I wonder if anyone has seen any testing on low noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) levels. The first thing I noticed when I got on the Freeway the first day I picked up my Mav was how loud it was. I am not talking about the engine. You can barely hear that, but the actual noise of the tires on the road and wind noise on the windshield. I own several cars that are 2011 and newer, and the maverick is the loudest by far. And all the other vehicles have class E M&S tires that should be louder. Maybe due to being closer to the ground than the other cars I drive. I had a 2016 Tesla Model X, and I know it is an electric motor, but the inside of that car was as quiet as they come, probably a lot more aerodynamic and Dynamat throughout...
