I think an automotive designer would say they are identical designs. But in the sense that the core body proportions (hood % of total length, cab % of total length, bed % of total length) are close to identical Also the windshield slope and A/B/C pillar layout.

They may be different length, height, price, and have very different design decorations - but they are at their core essentially identical designs. And that's not surprising, because the truck buying public is highly design-conservative. Witness the universal hatred on MTC of the Santa Cruz - which violates "truck design conservatism" by having a sloped C pillar and a "non manly man" front fascia.

We have several Rivians in my little town, and they are very good looking vehicles in person. I've struck up conversations with owners in the grocery store parking lot, and they universally love them.

The Rivian went a little more on the feminine side with softer curves and non-conforming headlights. In interviews, the CEO gets asked a lot about those headlights. He makes the point that you recognize a Rivian from a quarter mile away. It's a brand identity thing. But the "it's gotta be a manly man truck or I won't be seen in it" crowd really hates that.

Actually, the truly "manly man truck" crowd despises the girly Maverick too. So it's all on a spectrum.

The Rivian front end looks like a female recptacle assembly that a male
assembly of lights, grill and bumpers will insert into to complete the front end.

Anyone agree with me that the Rivian R1T looks a lot like the Maverick? Mainly down to the unibody construction/look and rear door profile.

Maybe under a car cover as long as they are not next to each other......

Similar but Rivian has boxy wheel openings like Chevy/GMC uses. The Maverick nose is far more attractive.

It's been surreal seeing the small man with big truck crowd join the douche nozzle Chads with their embrace of the Cybertruck design.

Ok, not quite in the front, but yes in the profile. I saw a red rivian in person and thought, yes it looks a lot like the Maverick with 20 inch wheels.

I like the Rivian (but not the price tag). But I like my 24 Maverick Tremor in Shadow Black a whole lot more despite what I see are lots of similarities (style wise, not functional like they both have four wheels).

Yes I like my Maverick better too. But still can appreciate the similarities in shape and style. Mav looks better from the front.

Wow what a bunch of sarcastic know-better folks geez.
Yes they do look similar. I’m in SoCal so they’re around, but half of them are the SUV by now.
RJ Scaringe is a pretty functional / minimalist guy. I’d like to have that pass-through lower trunk thing. They just failed at the headlights lol.

I don't think they look similar.. Also I have always hated that pig nose front end on the R1.
