Nothing directly Maverick related. But, logical that Ford learned the small, inexpensive 4 door is the path forward.

Its sad when a once-respected automotive news organization like Japolnik has lost its way, creating hyperbole articles that misstate or inaccurately report info. Especially with statements like this: " Automakers like Ford are losing big on each vehicle sold, with losses totaling in the billions .

Below article that reports Ford's just released 1st Quarter financial position. It seems revenues are up 3%. Its true Ford over-estimated the EV marketplace, but overall Ford didn't do bad in the 1st Qtr. The article also mentions how when Hybrids are merged in with EVs their sales are up 82%. I wonder how much the Maverick Hybrid adds into that growth?

Should Ford have ended car production except for the Mustang? I don't know, but It seems many auto manufacturers are reducing/ending sedan/small car production as its too hard to turn a profit on less expensive models with all the electronic safety nannies required by law.

Without reading this specific article, I have noticed that a few outlets have started using ChatGPT to generate automotive articles. You can tell they're AI pretty easily. If you're an "automotive news" outlet on the Web, you're surviving by a shoestring. So I think 90% of auto content will be AI gibberish inside of 5 years.

Most people look for YouTube reviews with actual people driving actual cars. All the rest is suspect. Especially anything posing as "analysis". Journalism is where the folks who can't hack English Lit go. And automotive journalism is where the journalists who can't be bothered to think go.

Yup, doesn't cost much more to engineer and build a larger SUV or truck and people will pay a significant amount more for it
