not to be silly, but if it is totaled, I wonder ,with the insurance co. do you get current "book" value, which KBB is still about $10,000 over sticker? or the ins. co so called value ? which 99% is always too low!

I wonder how the Mav powertrain would work as a stationary generator? From a Maverick that was totaled from the rear.

Oh man. Sorry to see this but glad you are ok and it did its job! I know there is a recall on the side curtain airbags (which I haven’t taken to get fixed yet) so good thing you didn’t have to test those out!

yeah at least get the battery,,, Back bumper,, spare tire,, jacks anything else you can keep, bed liner,, its easy to disassemble ..I need that bumper some detailers scratched mine.. Glad you guys were ok...

Well on the way home today a lady lost control and Spun out in the middle lane then shot in front of me, hit the wall and I had no choice but to hit them at 65mph. Heavy traffic and a wall on one side meant slam on the brakes and brace for impact. So bummed that I’m losing all the work I’ve put into it in the last couple months. Not sure what to do next since I can’t even order a new one in til next year.

Poor one out for me boys

As everyone has said, so glad you walk away from this accident. I am stunned and impressed at the level of protection Buddy gave you. Each of us loves our Mavericks. Knowing the care in the safety design makes it even more so! Prayers for your healing and being able to slide behind the wheel of your next Buddy!

UPDATE: So they are taking my Mav to a Ford body shop (Actually the dealer where I bought it) to rip it apart to see what all is damaged that we can't see. The first estimate came back at $18,115 which was only 42% of the value but they need 65% to total it. So they want to get a true estimate from a body shop and see what's hiding that needs fixin. Should hear something by the end of the week.

Still pretty sore, actually went this week to get some chest X-rays to make sure nothing was fractured since the chest pains haven’t gotten any better. Nothing looked off so it must just me some
Serious inflammation.
Still waiting to get the final word that the truck is indeed totaled and then the battle begins on what they are willing to give me for it. Not sure what I will get next honestly, waiting until next fall to order a new Maverick doesn’t seem like it’s going to be in the cards, and either is paying the crazy prices that these are going for right now. Thought about a Mach-E GT and I was surprised you can still order a 2023 so that would be an option. Will have to wait and see how the numbers play out with insurance first!

I can’t move very well today but wanted to get to the tow yard and get my things out as soon as I was able to. Plus they had it on the tow truck by the time I got out of the ambulance so I didn’t get to put the windows up!! Got all my things out including the tonneau cover and floor mats. Plus the new speakers I put in the front doors this past weekend.

Talked to the adjuster today and he is going out to look at it tomorrow. My insurance is going to take care of everything on my side and then go after her insurance provider.
Oh, I also got to put all the windows up while I was there lol

Sorry about your accident but as you can see from my first Picture I wrecked My Maverick as well. Accident was 250 miles from home. That was the worst part as I depended on all my updates coming from the Ford Dealer that I had the truck Towed too. It took almost 3 months for them to get the repair parts and make the repairs at a cost to Insurance company of 25,000. The Dealer did a good job on the repairs as you can see by the second photo. I was really afraid that it would be totaled but was not and I would do it again if I had too. I am interested in your outcome as our damage looks similar. I think I would pay to have it towed closer to home though. Good Luck !

Wow they did do an excellent job in what I can see in the picture! Sharp looking truck!

I talked to the body shop manager at the Ford dealer I took the truck to and he said they were just finishing up the estimate and it was over 70% value already so it will total. Insurance said anything over 65% would be scrapped so I'm jus waiting for the body shop to finish up the paperwork and get it to my insurance adjuster so I can get the official word. Then the battle over "market value" will begin.

I will update here and post the actual estimate so you guys can see it whenever they send it to me.
