Rhino Rack Platform + Elevate Rack installed

First post here, but haven’t see too many setups with platforms. I plan to cut the elevate racks to lower it about 3” so the surface of the platform is just above the cab.

The setup is really really sturdy and I love it.

Also, this is the specific model of platform. It is essentially the very same size as the bed (around the rails).

Where do you plan to cut it? The top of the uprights? Looks nice, are you installing a tent on top?

The elevate rack is intended to telescope, so there are actually two tubes for each upright. Need to cut each of them and then re-drill the holes through them. Plan to use a chop saw with a high tooth count blade.

No rooftop tent as we like to set up camp and then tour around. The rack will allow gear on top and soft goods inside the tonneau. Also have some j-racks for kayaks when we want to bring those.
We’ve been using the big truck, but it is overkill most of the time for just two of us. Excited to see how well the maverick works.

Install was easy. The tonneau, rails, and elevate rack are all meant to work together

Yes, this is the X15. I have a predecessor to the X15 on my Rebel and love it. This one is very similar, but I really like the look of the canvas instead of black vinyl. Overall we love the X15

Nice work! It looks so much better. We will need to trim even more out of ours to get the platform below the roof. My 'high' setting might be pretty lame.

I think I noted in my final thoughts that I should've cut at least 2", but maybe 3" would work even better....
Remember you will need to cut both inner / outer tubes relatively the same amount; however, I think there is a little leeway on the inner tube. For me it was a tough decision b/c I wanted it low enough (aerodynamics) if I use a RTT, but I needed at least 7 inches clearance for the rolled up BAKX4S. I also wanted the High position to go above my Yakima roof racks.

p/s I used the outer tube cut-off as a drill hole guide for the inner tube.

I should have also mentioned that I was concerned about my visibility out the rear window (didn't want to lose it) and wanted to pay attention to not blocking the break light. That's why I thought 2 inches would've been OK.
