FYI - moved my bumper step from my sold Honda Element to the Maverick and the Maverick is 6" longer than the Element so when closing the garage door, the door it hit the bumper step doing several hundred dollars of damage to the garage door. If you have an automatic garage door you might want to check the door first.

Any thoughts why the reversing system didn't save the door?

Does the 4 pin just snap on? I looked at it quickly one day and didn’t see how it comes off. I’d rather stuff it up under like you did

Not $17 better.

Yup.
Well, I'm still happy with mine. I see it from the house when I look out the window and everytime I go in and out and think that it was money well spent.
Everyone has their own taste and values, I'm content.

Absolutely, and thanks for posting. 👍
I do think the 7 pin version looks better, it's a shame mabett didn't do a dedicated 4 pin version. might even have saved them some $ and eliminated the 3/7 pin conversion plate.

I agree. At least it does make the installation slightly easier! Maybe they will eventually offer one.

I still don't have a tonneau cover because the domestic ones don't manufacture what I want and I refuse to send hundreds of dollars to China for a cheap temporary to get me by. Floor mats the same way; the ones made in China were way too pricey for me to send them that amount. I wanted nice ones, but did not want to pay even an American company over one hundred dollars for floor mats made in China or other unknown countries. I ended up with Tuxmats made in Canada. A little pricy, but look luxurious and in a very visible area. Yes, I have bought a few things for the Maverick from China, maybe even more than I know. But I have attempted to keep my purchases done conscieniously.
That's quite a dilemma. Are Canadian Tuxmats so much better for you than American-made Weathertech that you would pay even more for them? What is it that you want from a tonneau that American-made ones don't provide?

I did consider the Weathertechs, I want to use my all weather floormats all the time. The Weathertechs, are more utilitarian (plain rubber) and are probably great during slush and mud season. I don't have that here. I guess if you've never seen the Tuxmats you would not know. They're just nicer IMO, clean up better from the reviews and now my opinion. Weathertechs were only cheaper if you got the fronts only. On top of that, shipping was included in the listed price on the Tuxmats.
Tonneaus: well, I don't want a five year solution, I want a one piece, solid, lightweight and strong (can stand on it and secure) cover. Nothing more than 50 pounds. Easily removable and something less likely to make the bed an oven. I know all this is a lot, but with today's materials, it should be available for just a 53 inch bed. I would be willing to pay premium pricing for all these features but not unreasonable. I really like the old fiberglass covers available for older Rangers, using today's materials something like that could be made with lightweight and insulating properties. Perhaps, there is not enough profit in it for a sellable price. Or maybe the manufacturers are just selling what they want you to buy so you have to replace it. To me the tonneau should last as long as the truck and I know some out there will, but like I said, I 'm seeking more than that.
