I have a 2024 Maverick (Lariat) and was wondering if anyone out there if your Maverick makes a bell-like sound when reversing? Is there a way to disable this sound?

It is federally mandated on all electric vehicles when backing up. Since the maverick only operates in electric when backing up, hence the requirement. I don't recommend disabling it if you were to hit a pedestrian backing up and have it disabled that is a liability I would not want to experience. Hope this helps.I have a 2024 Maverick (Lariat) and was wondering if anyone out there if your Maverick makes a bell-like sound when reversing? Is there a way to disable this sound?
Probably.I have a 2024 Maverick (Lariat) and was wondering if anyone out there if your Maverick makes a bell-like sound when reversing? Is there a way to disable this sound?
NHTSA has already decided against that.My question is, when can we modify it and add in different sounds. I mean if it has to have a sound, why can't it be like ringtones? A turn of the century steam engine bell? The Jetson's spaceship? Imperial March? Top Gun theme?
I am certain there is a way to "alter or change" the sound. Somebody out there probably knows how to do it. But in the lwonderful world we live in, I ain't changing nothing that will put me in jail (for killing someone) and bankrupt my family who won't be in jail. What I am saying is, if the sound or noise is different than what the manufacturer has installed, that person is out on their own. That is cute. The study says that quiet vehicles are more harmful because they don't make sound to alert non-drivers, then says they can't allow different sounds because there is no data to support it. So they adopt and adapt a rule from one set of metrics and don't bother to actually perform tests.
Must have missed all the information about cognitive white noise and how it is the difference in pitch/timbre/amplitude of noise that draws our attention to something. Bikers call it "loud pipes save lives". Emergency vehicles use modulated sound to alert, and help in directionality of the sound so people can move out of the way.
Ohh well, i guess it will just have to be one of the many many things people can do, but shouldn't do. Being silent is super bad, however being unique isn't...right?
Yup you can disable but its not legal in the US:I have a 2024 Maverick (Lariat) and was wondering if anyone out there if your Maverick makes a bell-like sound when reversing? Is there a way to disable this sound?
Because it sounds like shit & its a free countryThe sound is for blind people to know your vehicle is there. The same reason it makes a sound moving forward. It is required by the government for safety reasons. Why would you want to disable it?
That made me laugh.Yup you can disable but its not legal in the US:
