The post I replied to was talking about auto start/stop not drive mode. It's not plug-in. You have to hard wire it in. See link in post #13.

Here is the plug and play thing I saw in another thread- no idea if it works or not:My Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is set to Eco and it stays that way no matter how many times I start and stop it. Sometimes I flip it over to Sport to merge on the highway (it is a huge difference in response from Eco to Sport) but otherwise it is always in Eco. Seems like a "no-brainer" to have it default to the last setting instead of returning to Normal, but then again Ford is not famous for getting things right that seem like no-brainers.
My Maverick just bumped over 1000 miles. Mine is an EB with FX4 so I don't have Sport or Eco mode. I haven't had a reason to use any mode other than Normal as of yet so the fact that it defaults to Normal hasn't been an issue. I'm just aggravated by having to remember to turn off the auto start-stop feature every time I start the truck. The limited gas savings is not worth the lack of instant response to me, I wish I could have deleted auto start-stop all together. It isn't a big deal in hybrids because the response from the electric motor is instant and any delay on the gas engine starting isn't an issue.
My Honda CRZ did not maintain the drive mode. It was a pain but got used to it.Perhaps Ford had a reason for doing it this way, but I've never seen any other vehicle that has driving modes not leave it as set. Imagine if every time you turned on the radio it went to a default station not the one where you last left it.![]()
Really? My F150 starts up before I can get my foot from the brake to the go pedal. Is the Maverick that bad, are you just that fast, or is past bias influencing your perception (kidding... You probably wouldn't notice your past bias)? My Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is set to Eco and it stays that way no matter how many times I start and stop it. Sometimes I flip it over to Sport to merge on the highway (it is a huge difference in response from Eco to Sport) but otherwise it is always in Eco. Great analogy.Perhaps Ford had a reason for doing it this way, but I've never seen any other vehicle that has driving modes not leave it as set. Imagine if every time you turned on the radio it went to a default station not the one where you last left it.![]()
One of the best made how-to videos I've seen. He also provides a print out explaining the procedure in detail. Easier to do than one would think. It can't be done using Forscan. There is a hardware timing module you can build and hard wire in to have your Maverick default to eco. https://cubanredneck.com/how-to-automate-eco-mode-on-the-ford-maverick/
I’m on my 3 rd. Tank and my driving modes are in town = slippery / freeway or over 45 = eco and my avg per tank is over 660 miles. I fill up when the light comes on at 70 miles left. They have not. And Slippery only applies to the Hybrid and if one is see-sawing between off-throttle regen (which slippery applies less of) and acceleration
Sorry, sometimes my brain gets on one track and I have trouble switching. I work nights and this was early morning for me BEFORE coffee. Again sorry for the mix-up.The post I replied to was talking about auto start/stop not drive mode.
No problemo. Thank you for your service.Sorry, sometimes my brain gets on one track and I have trouble switching. I work nights and this was early morning for me BEFORE coffee. Again sorry for the mix-up.
I'm sure this is been discussed before but I couldn't find the thread so let me ask again. I'm puzzled that the drive mode resets itself to Normal every time you shut off the vehicle. Attempting to save as much gas as possible with my hybrid I would like to keep it in Eco mode most of the time. I have to reset this each time I get in and start the vehicle. My wife's Kia Soul remembers the drive mode, so why doesn't the Maverick?
What's the possibility of Ford fixing this with a software update date somewhere down the line?
I have it on mine and works great.definitely worth the moneyHere is the plug and play thing I saw in another thread- no idea if it works or not:

Instructions on their site were pretty bad. Does it plug into the OBD2 port and one other place?I have it on mine and works great.definitely worth the money![]()
They dont mention the left over wire which kinda threw me!but i just un plugged the factory plug in,plugged in the adaptor in line as instructions says to do.i left the extra little harness where it would be out of the way.wired tied it all in and thats it.been on my ecoboost powered truck about 4 months with no problems.Instructions on their site were pretty bad. Does it plug into the OBD2 port and one other place?
