I just picked up my 23 maverick and since remote start (other than ford pass) isn't included anymore I wanted remote start. DId some research and bought this while waiting for my mav to arrive. https://www.amazon.com/Start-X-Star...d2-6fac8631a94e&ref_=pd_gw_ci_mcx_mr_hp_atf_m

This took all of 4 mins to install and works perfectly. Lock/Unlock/Lock and the mav starts right up.

Quick rundown of install, unplug ODBII connection from connector under dash, plug in provided harness end to that cable, then plug the other end into the ODBII factory connector. Hold the programming button down, insert black connector to program module.

Wait till you see only blue LED, (this is a series of flashing leds red/blue/yellow) you have to time letting it go to when the blue is lit. Insert the white connector into the module. Turn on the ignition with the key, blue led will turn off, red and yellow leds will turn on.

Wait up to 45 seconds until the blue led starts flashing. Turn off the ignition, all leds will turn off. Turn on the ignition, the yellow led will turn on, wait 5 seconds. Turn off the ignition. You are DONE!

I literally just did this, and it took me like 4-5 mins I spent more time unplugging and plugging in the ODBII connection and wire tying the module under the dash than anything else. This is super quick and works great!

Any pictures of the install? Do you know what the runtime is and whether or not the heated seats/wheel come on?

Manual says 10-15 mins run time, the hvac etc seems to auto adjust based on the outside temperature.

OEM Remote Start only follows your pre-shutdown setting. Are you saying this device works better than OEM in that it will read outside temps and automatically turn on HVAC, regardless of pre-shutdown settings?

I am saying its doing something what I cannot tell as I live in Florida so I have no way to telling you if it will turn on the heated components of the truck as we do not get cold very often here. I can tell you it IS turning on the HVAC very likely based on the last temperature setting it was on.

OEM Remote start DOES NOT ignore real time temperatures. I can verify that when I remote start in close to freezing temps, my Mav blasts the defroster on the windshield until I put the key in the ignition to "start" my already running truck. It then immediately backs off the fan speed and changes to whatever I had it set at before I left the Maverick the prior night.

We usually get a cold spurt here between feb-march so Ill have more feedback on heating and what it does then. But for me in Florida, the cooling is always on, and that coming on with the remote start is the important one.

Yeah here in Texas we're in the Winter mornings and Summer afternoons so may heater is running AM, AC running PM and I usually cut it off halfway home after work. Never had it remote start and go from off to "oh wow its cold outside better turn on the heat"

XLT with Lux, it no longer comes with remote start other than the ford pass app.

Thanks for the tip and link for the remote starter.

I see you have an Ecoboost. Do you know if it will work in the Hybrid?

I would check the start-x website to be sure.

Update, it was chilly this morning 44 degrees, and I needed a new toll transponder so ran to Publix to get one, remote started the Maverick on my way out and it had not only change the temp to something higher than my normal 72 to 78 but it activated the driver heated seat and the heated steering wheel.

I wonder if this would work if you already have the Autostart / stop eliminator plugged in here.
I priced this through the dealer and it would be ~$1000 CDN
