Remote start, again....

I've googled and searched the forum. Found nothing to answer my question. Totally anyway.
2025 Hybrid XLT AWD has the app for remote start. But as previous year model people have noted sometimes WIFI or cell connections are not available.
So I look at Ford accessories to get a fob, both options if I remember correctly say you need ford perimeter alarm plus for the fobs to work. Okay. Then all the Ford Perimeter alarm plus options don't work for 2025 they show on my end anyway.
Then my build sheet/window sticker shows perimeter alarm. So I google perimeter and perimeter plus and sure they have different meanings or features.
Do I have the two confused or is Ford's info somehow confusing? At least to me.

I called a dealership trying to get a part number and it's not in the system for 2025. I suspect it is the KN1Z19A361 Perimeter Plus that works with the 2022-24, but I'm not ordering until I know for sure. Can you please stick your head under the dash and look for a box with a part number on it? If you see a box with that part number, you probably just need to activate it.

The Perimeter Alarm and the Perimeter PLUS Alarm are two different systems. The Perimeter Alarm is standard on all vehicles. The Perimeter PLUS Alarm is a Ford Accessories option (dealer or self installed). It adds impact, glass breakage. The sensitivity setting on mine was set high enough that if I snap a side mirror in or out, it will go in full alarm, horn and flashing lights.
To me an added bonus (at least 22-24 models) is the remote start feature using the original key fobs.
If the Perimeter PLUS systems senses a full alarm impact, it sends an alert to the Ford Pass app on my phone.

search google for "start X".. they sell a unit for about $100 that plugs into the back of the obd port and uses the existing key fob.. takes about 10 minutes to install and program..

Currently doesn't list the 2025, but I can't imagine why it wouldn't work. I'd call them and ask to verify.

I called a dealership parts department yesterday and the guy couldn't find anything in the database regarding Perimeter Plus and the 2025 Mav. He even used my VIN to check. I'm just going to wait until someone confirms or Ford updates their database.

Your right.. 2025 does not have a plug on the back of the odb port.. not sure if any company makes a remote start for the 2025, even ford..

My remote start as part of the FORD PASS. I have an iPhone, I have no problem using it.

I have a 25 XLT AWD. The remote start option on mine came with the luxury package. If you have the luxury package it will be shown on the window sticker below the standard features in the option equipment section.

I bought my Maverick November 20 21, I referred to it as a plain Jane. Nothing fancy, no luxury. It does have electric windows all around. But I have the Ford app on my iPhone lets me remote start and turn off, also.remote lock and unlock the doors.

That was what I figured as the ones I saw said not compatible with 2025 Maverick.
I didn't see no box under the dash. I probably won't call my dealer. I used my Ford pass points this past weekend. Went to my dealer as they were not listed when ordering Ford direct, and I'm to cheap to pay shipping on free stuff. They had their reasons for not being on the list. Anyway I go to the dealer 0730 sharp. No one at the parts counter except for a cashier. (No customers either). She gets a parts guy to show up about 6 minutes later, he fumbles around 5 minutes with my part numbers, then sends me to a Service guy, he dick's around 8 minutes and sends me back to the parts guy where I waited again. Then back to the service guy that finally confirmed and printed me a ticket. Then I noticed he stiffed me for $20 more on one of my parts from Ford than what they listed it.
Nah, I probably won't attempt to call. Might break something.

They don't make one according to the email they sent me.

Sure I got the newest most fancy iPhone made, but if you read my post, kind sir, WIFI and cell service are not always available.

Thank you for looking! I'm going to be disappointed if I can't add Perimeter Plus to my XL. Maybe I'll get lucky and someone will find that it's built into the head unit now and just needs to be enabled with Forscan. I kind of doubt that though.

If you really want remote start from the fob it's worth it to get the luxury package. It'll work better than any aftermarket system.

I can confirm that this Ford Perimeter Plus does work with the 2025 Maverick. I installed it this afternoon and enabled it using Forscan software on my windows laptop. Super easy to install. I used fordpass points to order and only paid around $17 in tax and shipping. Well worth it and now I can remote start using my factory key fob by pressing lock, unlock and lock quickly.
