Couldn't be any happier with my choice of EB Lariat AWD 4K tow. I recently completed a 6K mile cross country trip mostly on I-20 from Phoenix to South Carolina, with a couple of days of local driving thrown in. Ran in ECO mode most of the time at a pretty constant 72 - 74 MPH, AC on all the time, fully loaded with golf clubs & camping gear. (Haven't towed anything yet but expect to pick up a lightweight travel trailer in the near future, hence the 4k tow choice)
The vehicle computer calculated MPGs at 31.6. I also used the Fuelio app to log fueling and it came at in at 31.22 MPG. Distance between fill-ups ran between 442 and 497 miles.
I love the smooth ride, great acceleration when needed, and especially how easy it is on my aging body.
As an added bonus I learned to use the lane keeping assist system which I didn't like at first because it seemed like it wandered too much. But on a long trip like this to be able to just maintain a light touch on the steering wheel and pretty much let the technology do the work made the drive that much easier. In some situations I was more comfortable with a firmer grasp on the steering wheel.
BTW, it gives you 12 to 15 seconds of completely hands-free driving before it starts nagging you. (I know, I know, Tesla and EVs yada yada yada but I didn't buy a Tesla)

I think you bought the wrong truck. I would have looked at a Toyota Tocoma 4X4, just my opinion.
But I didn't buy the wrong truck. If I had wanted a Tacoma I would have bought one and other than the issues stated it's a perfect vehicle for what we use it for.

Especially if he's recommending based off your few gripes. Tacomas as reliable as they are, are dog shit when it comes to gear hunting and passing power.

Edit: Also just to lightly chime in about your issue with rolling the throttle. Its pretty common for alot of turbo vehicles and especially turbo trucks to have that lag. My old diesels would operate the same in a light switch manner with a lag. I went from A turbo diesel 350 then to a N/A 5.0 V8 F150, then to a N/A v6 outback and now the EB mav. The maverick feels alot like my 350 did with turbo lag delay.

LOL......SLOW YOUR ROLL COWBOY...its quick for a little truck...they are not fast by any means...
I'd if you compare 0/60 of all the american utes....
Maverick stands 1st at 5.9
Santa cruz at 6
Colorado z71 6.1
Ridgeline 6.2
2.3 eco ranger 7.0
Tacoma 7.7
4.0 ranger 8

I recon the maverick is pretty fast

not really a turbo lag issue as such more with the gearbox allowing the engine to rev out to where there is no power rather than riding the mid range torque as I have been able to do in my current WRX and previous Audis and VW's. It's probably more to do with me just expecting more from it and having to learn its characteristics. It's a small annoyance in an otherwise excellent vehicle

I'm not comapring it to "slower trucks" i'm comparing it to every single other utes available on the american market right now...
Its also quicker than a fiesta st and a focus st
Its also quicker than all of the base/1500 pickups out there
Its also the same 0/60 than a alfa romeo quadrifoglio

5.9 out of an economy tool box is pretty impressive and fast

Ive read thread after thread and as expected, everyone justifies why they purchased what they did. I’m curious if anybody hates their ecoboost or hybrid and wishes they went with the other one and for what reasons.

I’ve been dead set on one or the other one, switching weekly as both have their pros and cons.
If you live in California or one of the other states are thinking about phasing gas powered vehicles a hybrid might be a good choice

Yep. I had a hybrid for two months. Based on my experience engaging with 300+ horses in a car, the hybrid lacks of power. The mpg was not that good neither when driving between towns of 2700' elevation difference. It was not an automobile that I would be comfortable driving on highways around here. Sold the hybrid and still waiting for an EB.

Went for the eco because of the 4k towing and wanting a light trailer and more power. I also drive almost all highway. No regrets and I average 31mpg.

Depends on the source i guess, car and driver states 6.3 focus st 2018 and 5.9 EB mav

Anyways you get my point, thing is fast and with a bit of tuning, coulb be faster too

Yes I regret my engine choice.

I live on a small livestock farm. Since 1999 I have been driving my trusty Mazda pickups, at first to work, and now mostly around the farm. Farm use includes distributing feed and hay to several different herds of sheep, goats, cattle and horses. The Mazda gets about 10 MPG doing chores. The Hybrid Maverick seemed like a perfect solution, I don't think the gas engine on the Hybrid would even start but about every third day. So I ordered a Hybrid in August 2021.

That is when I discovered the disadvantage of the Hybrid - Ford can't make them. I have yet to see a Hybrid Maverick.

But I did see the exact Maverick I had ordered, but with the EB engine. It was loitering at another dealership, and after a certain amount of extortion, it followed me home.

I love the EB engine. I have driven it 3K miles and it has delivered over 30MPG overall. (But I have only used it a few times for farm chores.) This weekend I went on a trip and got 38MPG on the highway at 55MPH. It feels really fast, it is quiet and comfortable. No squeaks or rattles. Everything works perfectly. Road trips are very pleasant.

And it holds 700 lbs of feed!

Back in January, I went to the Auto Show to try to see an actual Maverick in person. There was a Maverick there, but Ford wouldn't let anyone sit in it. But I did learn that you can buy two Mavericks for the price of one F150. If you could find an F150 to buy....

If the Hybrid Maverick ever shows up, I will have to decide which one is preferable. But at this point, the Hybrid is mythical and lacks substance.
