Ive read thread after thread and as expected, everyone justifies why they purchased what they did. I’m curious if anybody hates their ecoboost or hybrid and wishes they went with the other one and for what reasons.

I’ve been dead set on one or the other one, switching weekly as both have their pros and cons.

Hybrid has been great for me. Seeing consistent numbers better than advertised and power has been plenty sufficient. Got 42 mpg on the 120+ Mile flat highway drive home today, in 100 degree plus heat at speeds of at least 70-75mph the whole way. AC was keeping us chilled at 73 the entire time.

Hell no!!!!!
My Eco is a freaking 25 MPG rocket. No exaggeration, my Maverick is fast, almost ridiculous for a small stock truck. It’s not a performance car but damn for what it is…very quick. I have surprised a ton of people at stop lights, it’s funny when they can read my tailgate letters before they knew what happened.

No regrets with my hybrid. Efficient, peppy, and smooth.

I absolutely love the eCVT, which only comes with the hybrid. Ironically, I thought that I would hate it, since I’m usually not a fan of CVT transmissions—but the eCVT is a totally different beast.

As for reliability, the wiring harness issues could have happened with either drivetrain, so I’m not holding that against the hybrid. As for the recall about potential fire, it doesn’t seem like a common issue.

I ordered an eco because I was one of the last to realize that if you order one from a dealer they may not mark it up. I had no clue. So I ordered the eco and began to get educated on The Maverick Truck Club. I was blessed to get a vin a week ago. I will get the truck and see what my actual mileage will be and how much I like it. I will order a 23 hybrid when Ford allows me to. If the price of my eco holds up where I wouldn't lose money, I will probably switch trucks in a year or so or more. If I didn't know about the hybrid, I'm sure I would be super pleased with the eco. I feel it's a win either way!

I got scheduled for the FINAL week of MY22 production. They will start scheduling MY23 trucks for production later this month to be built beginning the week of 11/14.

I deeply regret my recent pre-order of a 2023 Hybrid Maverick.
Following this site extensively leads me to believe that my Hybrid order will take twice or more as long to be delivered vs an EB Maverick!
Knowing myself as I do, I am sure my despair will will turn to joy as soon as find myself logging 40MPG tanks into Fuelly!
Seriously though, Each version has merits that the other cannot touch! I can understand why some folks order both.

I initially ordered a hybrid. Then I decided to get the Ecoboost. My truck came in and another truck came in that was hybrid. Mine had the gas tank recall, the hybrid didn't. The guy decided he didn't want the hybrid. Test drove it because the dealer convinced me it wouldn't have much power. Well he had to admit he was wrong and allowed me to switch over to the hybrid. I am really glad I did especially given the way the gas prices shot up. I average 40 mpg and I don't have to baby it to get that. Not saying anything bad about the Ecoboost, but I do love this Hybrid.

A coworker let me drive his EB around and I was almost shocked at how quick it felt. Fun even. If I could find a hybrid to drive I’m sure it would make this a bit easier (as I’m sure a lot of people feel)

i 100% understand about the mileage. I drove around getting 13 or so city then 57 mpg hwy in a TDi. The 13 mpg got old, quick, but it was fun. Tdi had enough torque to not be boring but it was never fun. If the hybrid Maverick is like the TDi then I think I’ll be happy but if it drives like a Prius i feel I’ll start to regret going that way within a year.

Does the hybrid ever feel sluggish when passing at highway speeds?

If I am going over 60 mph, I just switch it to sport mode and put the peddle to the metal and she hauls like scalded dog. Plenty of power for passing vehicles.

Maverick Hybrid drives nothing like the snail that is a Prius, given its ~58% more HP.
