I agree, I only wish it was big enough to hold a burger - my old Toyota Echo had a perfect horizontal cubby for burger storage.
White castle?

I have a 2023 Ford Escape. The top trim, which I have, has that same exact screen. The standard escape trims would still come with sync4 but it is a smaller display that preserve the analog style HVAC buttons. Food for thought, the lower trim Mavericks may keep a smaller screen

I like my cars simple, my daily driver is a 2010 and I will say the touch screen is pretty intuitive and it's not that bad as far as touch screens go. I do appreciate the larger screen size when using a map or the proximity cameras.

Well, although it's caused some controversy, I'm just glad that they didn't go the way of the new Ranger and gave it a vertical touchscreen. The horizontal is much easier to look at and less distracting. That is if they didn't fully replace the physical knobs and incorporate everything into the touchscreen then it will be distracting. I figured since the platform mates, the Escape and Bronco Sport, either feature this screen or will feature it in the next refresh, it would make its way into the Maverick. The thing is, since it's bound to have Ford's latest Sync 4 software and with added features such as a 360 degree camera system, look for another price hike. The more features they keep adding to it, the more expensive it gets. Next you thing you know it will no longer be a dirt cheap small truck anymore and will eventually price itself in the mid-size realm.

I had a new Edge as a rental a few months back. It had the vertical screen. No knobs. I found it a bit fiddly to hit the proper HVAC buttons. They were a pretty small target when you are on the move.

Looking at some reviews of the new 2024 Escape, the screen quality is much improved as well.

They mess with and talk about the screen a bit in this review
That screen looks much better!

Meh, you get used to it. One thing I like about Fords Sync4 is that the most commonly used HVAC controls are always static on the screen. No diving into menus to turn on heated/ventilated seats, changing cabin temperature, heated steering wheel, rear defrost, etcetera. Even though it's a screen those commonly used controls are still easy to access. Just as easy as physical buttons IMO.

Honestly I'm not sure why everyone is freaking out about physical HVAC buttons going away considering this is just a prototype of what MIGHT be not what current Maverick owners have. Everyone on this forum loves to tout how they own their vehicles "until the wheels fall off" so even if the HVAC controls go to a screen it won't affect anyone here.....right?

In these two shots it appears the center of the grille is forward of the headlights more than the 22-24 MY Mavs.

In the photo directly above this text the fender flares seem more prominent.

I definitely preferred the body color door handles on the silver Maverick better than this version.

Also glad to see a horizontal screen vs the previously reported vertical screen.

It will be interesting to see the official release.

Looks like the top dash cubby is gone. Only used it once to keep my steak burrito warm when parking in the sun. :)

No intent to be Debbie downer, but I'm not excited for more technology. It's all well and good when it works, not so much when it doesn't. I have zero regrets with no CP360 and BLISS and have never seen my front brake assist work. The basic screen in my XLT works great with CP along with the rear camera and that is fine and dandy for me. Besides, an XLT comparably equipped with mine will prolly run north of 35K for MY '25 whereas I paid 30.6K. More things taken away too.

...As for the new OS being used... figures. Pretty crappy that something like Sync with already limited support and tons of issues will be dropped for something else that ends up having the same fate in 5 years too...
Except for the monocolor icons, the OS will be an improvement over SYNC. Maps and apps will be updated automatically.

When my County changed my address for 911 purposes, Google maps had it updated in 2 weeks. It took about a year and a half to get apple to update my address on their shitty maps.

Few inches for probably another 2k msrp bump. How much are you willing to pay per inch?
