Was driving back country paved roads at 60mph...with doggo upfront and he stepped on the locker button somehow. Didn't realize it till I saw the amber light on the dash. Should I be concerned...., probably was on for 20 mins.fwd lock was not pushed

I have a Tremor also. I am not sure but I doubt if it would have made any difference being that there was no extra loads on either wheel for the computer decide whether to lock it or not. And that's if at that speed it was allowed to operate at all. Have to research that. All I can say is it works great on the sand. 😊

Nope - since the Tremor's RDU uses wet clutch packs to engage and "lock" the wheels those clutch packs also disengage rather than let it bind up and cause damage.

You should be a-okay.

So it sounds like a limited slip, not a true locker, correct?

Also got to remember that with modern tech like this, Ford would never made it possible to even engage it is it was over a speed they deemed it not being good for. They make things 'idiot proof', especially when under warranty.

Agree, It was not engaged after 20th anyway. The f-150 disengage at 20mph for safety. This will be no different and since it’s a clutch not a true locker zero damage was done

Freaking dogs and little kids man. They definitely have their perks, but man do they drive you nuts some times 🤣. Hope everything is ok. Lots of stories on here of people's kids or dogs hitting things they shouldn't while driving.

You'll need to define "true locker" - do you mean mechanical? No it is not a mechanical locker.

It is a true locker in the sense that it will lock the rear axle and both wheels will spin at the same rate regardless of traction.

It is smart enough to know when someone is about to misuse it and it prevents itself from being damaged.

It's a high grip computer controlled variable active on the fly clutch based differential. Pushing the button tells the electric clutches to work at their best. Otherwise it is always working back there when traction becomes limited. I wouldn't leaving on all the time as use does add wear but not really more than anything else. I'm sure there is a recommendation somewhere for speed limits but I don't know it.

Even if this were a true mechanical locker with no unlock mechanism, there would be little problem out on the highway with no sharp turns where differential action is needed. In town would be different.

I was thinking the same. Shaft-driven vehicles always have slop in the drivetrain. Even with true part-time 4x4s, I follow the quarter-turn rule-of-thumb. That is, I wouldn't sweat driving in 4H or 4L on dry pavement so long as I don't have to turn the steering wheel more than a quarter turn.

My pooches also like to dance on my center console buttons. Have not yet come up with a good cover for it yet.
