Rear License Plate Mount Location?

On the second picture where The plate is on the tailgate what happens if you had to drive with the tailgate down Then your plate would not be visible. I know if it's not visible the cops will stop you in Michigan.

I'm old enough to remember when a lot of pickups had an offset license plate and only one taillight that was OEM.

I have two Fords with offset licence plates. The Bronco rear plate is on a hinged bracket so it can be seen with the tailgate down.

Personally I like the offset. It's unique to the truck. however, the plate reader at my local carwash can't read it, and they always have to open the gate manually. They don't like that.

No… the Austin toll Road takes a picture of your front plate. At least the last four I got in the mail were the front…. never the back.

I tried to have an aftermarket backup-sensor kit installed, but couldn't because the offset plate is right where one of the sensors would need to be installed. I wish Ford had found a way to mount it in the middle OR had backup sensors included from the factory. Also, middle just looks better to me.

Backup cam is better, and Lariat comes with "backup/ cross traffic" alerting.

Gets rear ended because to many distracted drivers. Mainly cell phones.
