Are there any Maverick owners here who have installed a front and rear dashcam yet? I have one sitting in a box waiting for my Lariat to arrive and I'm curious about where to mount the rear-facing camera. My truck has the auto-sliding rear window and from pics I've seen there doesn't appear to be much room to mount a camera above it. I might have to place it in an offset position but I was hoping someone else on the forums might have done this already and can provide some insight. Thanks.

How does it look out the back, is the view obstructed at all being offset? Thanks!

I'm installing a set of VIOFO A139.
I didn't choose rear window, so the back one is going to the top center. (wire is routed inside roof liner)
For the front unit, it's going to be on the left side of back-view mirror, since Viofo camera lens is offset to the right of unit. I did a dry fit, it's well hidden behind the mirror, doesn't obstruct my view.

Now i'm waiting for micro2 fuse tap to come in (amazon) than I can continue the install.

That's exactly the dashcam I have too, the A139. I also got the fuse taps. At the moment everything is just collecting dust in a closet until I eventually get my Mav in a month or two.

If you're going to hard-wire like I did, pull A pillar panel from the top and pull up, but you don't need to fully remove it. You really want to run wires behind those curtain airbags.
Power went to the right side and rear-cam going to the left.

My roof liner were surprisingly tight at corner and junctions with other plastic panels. I spent most of my time pushing wire into near rear-view mirror area.

Extra wiring are tucked at passenger foot well (where fuse box is) and inside roof liner at the back (where I was able to pull the liner down and was able to insert my hand flat, I was able to feel there is a decent size empty space there)

I'll have a chance to double check some wiring when i'll upgrade those surprisingly bad speakers:confused: (i'm no audiophile (had civic, mazda 3), but man the factory ones are flat, not good at all.)

Thanks for the install tips. I used to be an install tech for a mobile phone company WAYYY back in the days when people actually had "car phones", LOL. I'm pretty handy with a trim tool, but I'm planning to take my time and do it right. I'll also be installing an auto-dimming rearview mirror so I'll probably do both at the same time and run the wires concurrently.

Good luck with your speaker upgrade. I watched a YouTube vid that a guy posted about his upgrade adventure. Let's just say it's not for the faint of heart, LOL! 😁

Which fuse did you tap for power? Another thread stating it was going on/off with auto start using fuse 3, so I will be looking for another ACC power.

I haven't installed it yet. My Mav is still in transit to the dealership.

I don't have sliding rear window. But I put my rear one above the rear driver sides rear seat headrest. It is more out of the way looking through the rearview mirror and I was having trouble tucking the wire under the rear headliner A 129 pro duo for me.

It doesnt really throw off the rear video much either

I made a video about hardwiring mine, the video is way too long but maybe you find a useful tidbit of info in there somewhere. For what it's worth I don't really notice the rear dashcam in normal driving, the rear window is so small you only use it for quick glances lol.

Here is an example 15 second clip of front and rear. Pollen was covering the car so it might seem a bit dusty heh. Front is 2160p (4k), rear is 1080p
